Bermuda Sail Grand Prix – Planning Events During COVID

Bermuda Sail Grand Prix

After months of cancellations and delays, sporting events are gradually returning around the world. But what does the return look like? What goes into planning a major sporting event during a global pandemic? What does the future of live sports look like?

Bermuda has managed the pandemic with strict health and safety measures. After Sail Grand Prix canceled its second season in 2020, the global championship has revised its schedule with Bermuda Sail Grand Prix presented by Hamilton Princess setting sail from April 24-25, 2021.

SailGP has made the necessary adjustments for safe practices and responsible events. For example, an innovative approach for a live viewing spectator experience: fans that own their own boats can soak up the action of the racing by registering for the SailGP Bring Your Own Boat Program to gain exclusive spectator zone access on the edge of the racecourse.
