BOBO’S CONTEMPORARY CHIC STYLING HIGHLIGHTS FRENCH-INSPIRED DINING

DEFINED by a dazzling combination of natural light pouring in from its elegantly curved glass façade to highlight its vibrantly flamboyant interior, Bobo’s is the essence of classic French bistro fused with Cape Town glamour and social style imperatives that only the signature Kove Collection brand deliver to sophisticated patrons.

With precise positioning within a deliberate architectural design to best lap up the remarkable seascapes enjoyed along the Cape’s Atlantic Seaboard seafront, Bobo’s floor to ceiling glass frames make the most of the season’s available warmth and light or, when thrown open, to embrace the cool sea breezes of spring and summer. A shaded outdoor area with classic black and white chairs under a striped canopy adds to Bobo’s exterior chic.

Step through its entrance and an interior of lush floral wallpaper and deep buttoned leather banquettes offer an atmosphere of old-world charm, with pops of contemporary emerald green chairs.  ‘Bobo’ is slang for hipster in French and interior design aficionados Soda Custom has rendered Bobo’s Brasserie into an all-encompassing contemporary cool and cutting-edge experience.

Any afternoon is the perfect time to meet for celebratory cocktails in its avant-garde lounge lined with bookshelves, an open fireplace, velvet armchairs, and shaded Boho lamps beneath Mediterranean blue tiles which keep the atmosphere lively with undercurrents of electric energy.

Make the transition from work day to evening social with Bar Bites to snack on with traditional fresh baguette with farm butter and sea salt, olives, in-house crisps with Boursin French onion dip with or without caviar, and dry cured, celeriac, remoulade and apple-styled ham and terrine of smoked salmon with crème fraiche.

In Bobo’s elegant restaurant diners are welcomed with classically French inspired feature dishes from The Kove Collection’s Executive Chef Amber-May Deetlefs where you will find a dish for every discerning palate served with handsome plating, generous portions and a convivial atmosphere.

This season’s Winter Specials list offers succulent Grilled Prawns with fennel, celery, garlic, butter, white wine & rice pilau (R165); Lamb Navarin, a braised lamb shoulder, baby turnip & haricot beans (R160); White Fish Provencal with breadcrumbs, courgette & mussels Provençal sauce (R110); Bistro Steak sirloin served with vinaigrette, onion rings & watercress (R150); Sous Vide Chicken Breast with risotto, mushroom & lemon (R150) and Stuffed Mushroom with shallots, garlic, thyme, goat’s cheese & parmesan (R145). Set menu options are also available to enjoy.

On the Main Menu, a list of can-I-have-them-all Appetizers offer a reassuring selection of favourites from the finest oysters, prawn avocado, escargot, and dry aged beef tartare with capers.

A choice of Chef’s plates from a changing menu of Chef Amber-May’s signature dishes include inspired classics such as Waldorf salad, Parisian Dumplings and traditional Escargot and Bouillabaisse, Steak and Frites, Steak Tartar and archetypal Burgers recommended for regular diners looking to range over a variety of Chef Amber-May’s new tastes.

With some of the finest South African wines to be ordered from the Wine List, guests will be just as delighted ordering a serving by the glass or, just before sundown to savour a sunset cocktail and convivial mingling in the Lounge to catch up with friends alongside an ice-cold beer.

Discover a food journey in the capable hands of Executive Chef Amber-May while you sit back, sip on French Champagne and enjoy a sensory explosion as only a Cape Town sunset and The Kove Collection can deliver.
