Casa Chameleon has partnered with Kind Traveler to donate funds to AlfaLit International, a literacy organization that seeks to educate local students in reading, writing and math. For every night that guests book at Casa Chameleon hotels — including at their newest location in Las Catalinas — $10 will be donated to AlfaLit International.
Kind Traveler is an innovative online travel booking service that connects socially conscious travelers with hotels willing to give back to their communities. To date, Casa Chameleon’s three hotels are the only properties in Costa Rica available for donations and booking through Kind Traveler.
As a reward for their donation through Kind Traveler, travelers unlock an exclusive hotel rate and special perks with curated hotels and unique properties. One hundred percent of the donations raised on the Kind Traveler platform are given to charity.
Casa Chameleon at Las Catalinas is the newest NP International property in Costa Rica and the first new hotel to open in the town of Las Catalinas. Las Catalinas itself is a new place, founded in 2009 and still under development. It is a walkable beach town located just 45 minutes by car from the Liberia airport, making it both remote and convenient at the same time.
Casa Chameleon has attracted the discerning attention of Travel + Leisure. The new adults-only resort will be featured in the September 2017 issue of the magazine in a spread that covers the rise of Las Catalinas from developer’s drawing to a living, breathing coastal town in Guanacaste. Casa Chameleon is ready for its close-up on the pages of the Travel + Leisure and in real life as travelers begin to book their Costa Rica vacations at the first boutique, eco hotel in the area.
“So much of the ‘pura vida’ experience anywhere in Costa Rica is because of the environment,” says Reynolds. “It’s important to us that we proactively work to preserve it.”
Casa Chameleon seeks to marry the sustainable habits of an eco hotel with the amenities savvy vacationers expect from a tropical resort. The new hotel at Las Catalinas features 21 villas, each with its own saltwater infinity plunge pool and unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean. The public spaces include a zero-edge pool area with breathtaking views, an open-air restaurant, and on-site adventure concierges ready to assist in booking a variety of excursions. Wild adventures take advantage of the Costa Rican countryside and include horseback riding, snorkeling, kayaking, surfing and more.
