Windjammer Landing Resort & Residences has introduced a remarkable new addition to its portfolio with the debut of La Belle Hélène, unveiled during an exclusive, invitation-only celebration on March 28. The highly anticipated private estate was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by many of Saint Lucia’s most influential figures, setting the tone for an evening defined by elegance and prestige.
Positioned between the dramatic peaks of Gros Piton and Petit Piton, guests were transported to the villa in fitting style, arriving by catamaran from Windjammer Landing to a private jetty. Upon arrival, they were greeted with a refined reception featuring caviar and Moët & Chandon, immediately establishing the sense of occasion.
Spanning 13,000 square feet, the estate offers uninterrupted views of the iconic Pitons and an atmosphere of complete seclusion, while remaining just minutes from Soufrière’s famed attractions, including the Sulphur Springs, lush botanical gardens, and cascading waterfalls.
The villa’s name, La Belle Hélène, nods to Saint Lucia’s historic nickname, “Helen of the West,” a reference to the island’s long-contested beauty reminiscent of Helen of Troy. Architecturally inspired by classic French design, the ten-bedroom residence features three standalone poolside bungalows, expansive indoor-outdoor living areas, soaring vaulted ceilings, and a striking lagoon-style pool complete with fire elements and a natural stone grotto. A private tennis court and basketball court further elevate the estate’s offering.
The black-tie launch event drew an impressive gathering of dignitaries, government officials, past and present prime ministers, prominent hoteliers, international media, and notable figures from Saint Lucia’s social scene. The calibre of attendees underscored the significance of the occasion and firmly positioned La Belle Hélène among the island’s most exclusive private residences.
As evening fell, a spectacular fireworks display illuminated the sky above the Pitons, marking the villa’s official debut. Guests were then welcomed into the residence for an evening of curated indulgence, accompanied by live music from an eight-piece band led by celebrated Saint Lucian guitarist Boo Hinkson. The experience blended world-class entertainment with Michelin-star-level cuisine, while luxury gift bags served as a final gesture of appreciation. The atmosphere was unmistakably grand—more akin to a red-carpet gala than a traditional property launch.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ernest Hilaire, Saint Lucia’s Minister of Tourism, emphasized the broader significance of the unveiling, noting that the property represents a new milestone in the island’s evolution as a leading luxury destination.
With the addition of La Belle Hélène, Windjammer Landing now offers a unique dual-coast experience, becoming the only resort brand on the island to provide luxury villa accommodations spanning both the northwest and the iconic southwestern regions. This expansion follows the resort’s recent $40 million transformation and its inclusion in The Leading Hotels of the World.
According to Managing Director Nick Prattas, the new estate reflects a continued commitment to delivering elevated, highly personalized experiences, combining exceptional privacy with the brand’s signature service.
Guests staying at La Belle Hélène also benefit from full access to Windjammer Landing Resort & Residences’ amenities, including six swimming pools, a white-sand beach, Serene Spa and Wellness, private fitness offerings, and priority reservations across the resort’s dining venues—bringing together the intimacy of a private estate with the advantages of a full-service luxury resort.
