2025 Remote Adventures in True World Expeditions’ Style

To mark the launch of its new trekking expedition to the Peak Lenin Base Camp in Kyrgyzstan, adventure travel specialist World Expeditions chooses below eight of the most exhilarating new trips for 2025 to some of the most remote places on earth.

Pamirs, Kyrgyzstan 

Be in awe as you trek in the Pamir Mountains on your way to the iconic Peak Lenin Base Camp in Kyrgyzstan. Join World Expeditions’ new 14-day adventure and familiarize yourself with the mountain culture and nomadic spirit by engaging with the welcoming local communities. The first part is gentler as you gradually acclimatize in the Kozho-Kelen Gorge and the Alai Valley. The second part is the climb of Yukhin Peak, reaching up to 5,130m/16,831ft, where you’ll gain exclusive views of the north face of Peak Lenin and the Alai Valley from the top.

Haida Gwaii, Canada 

World Expeditions is thrilled to present an adventure cruise for cultural explorers, wildlife lovers and those drawn to remote destinations. Embark on a journey south to the secluded reaches of Gwaii Haanas National Park Reserve, Marine Conservation Area Reserve and Haida Heritage Site. The trip highlights include visits to historic village sites, with stops at awe-inspiring locations like SGang Gwaay, T’aanuu and K’uuna. Along the way, take in the beauty of ancient rainforests and the bustling K’iid Xyangs K’iidaay intertidal zone. 

West Greenland  

Another new World Expeditions trip for curious minds is a multi-activity experience in Greenland. Inuit communities have long navigated the waters of Greenland’s breathtaking west coast by kayak, preserving traditions in harmony with nature. Aboard an intimate, 16-passenger yacht, take the time to admire the dramatic scenery of Greenland, framed by dramatic cliffs and ice-filled horizons. As you kayak the serene waters of Disko Island and Uummannaq Fjord, look for unique flora on a hike and watch for native wildlife such as Arctic foxes. 

Patagonia’s Far South 

Be among a select group of people who undertake the challenging Dientes Circuit, the southernmost circuit on earth. Located on the remote Navarino Island in the far south of Patagonia, the island is part of the Chilean Commune of Cabo de Hornos, the southernmost commune in the world. Named after the Dientes de Navarino mountain range, the 42km/26mi remote wilderness trek follows alpine lakes, glaciers and jagged rock pinnacles offering spectacular views throughout. 

Llullaillaco Volcano, Bolivia 

Discover the highest Inca sanctuary in the world, trek in the Valley of the Moon and view the expanse of the Atacama salt flat from high above. The expedition culminates at the top of the majestic Llullaillaco volcano, historically the highest active volcano on earth. The new trip is led by renowned British mountaineer Victor Saunders, former chair of the Alpine Club, who last year became the first person to climb the Yawash Sar peak (6,258m/20,531ft) in Pakistan’s Karakoram mountains.  

Western Africa – Ghana, Togo and Benin 

World Expeditions’ new trip in West Africa explores the most interesting highlights of Ghana, Togo and Benin, showcasing the fascinating voodoo culture and local traditions that date back centuries. Immerse yourself in vibrant cities with an interesting mix of old colonial neighbourhoods, natural landscapes, rural villages, tropical farmlands and fishing communities. Over two weeks, you will learn about the slave trade that plied West African nations, visit the region’s largest fetish market and venture to Ouidah, the spiritual capital of voodoo. 

Dolpo, Himalaya 

An exhilarating trek into the heart of Dolpo, the land that inspired Peter Matthiessen’s classic ‘The Snow Leopard’ and Eric Valli’s evocative, award-winning film ‘Himalaya.’ Extending to Tibet, the region is a guardian of ancient Buddhist and Bon Po traditions. Trekking alongside the sacred Phoksumdo Lake and traversing high passes with spectacular views, this trip will bring a deep insight into its rich cultural traditions and a complete immersion into its wild and rugged landscapes. 

Assam, India 

Experience one of India’s least explored regions as you cruise the mighty Brahmaputra River in Assam, from Neamati Ghat to Guwahati. Discover ancient Vaishnavite monasteries, tea estates, some of the largest river islands in the world and visit Kaziranga National Park, famed for its thriving population of the endangered Indian one-horned rhinoceros but also home to Bengal tigers, Asian elephants and wild water buffalo.
