3 New Ways To Discover The Story Of Belfast

A trio of tours is offering new ways to embrace the giant spirit of Belfast and Northern Ireland.

There’s a lot to see and do in the city that built the Titanic.

Whether it’s a sightseeing tour, a Game of Thrones® jaunt, or food, traditional music, street art, walking, bus, boat, bike and black taxi tours, there are numerous fun activities to help you unpack the capital of Northern Ireland.

Enhancing the various ways of experiencing Belfast, three recently created tours have been added that will help you paint a picture of its past and present.

The Discovery Tour is a one-hour walking tour around the Titanic Slipways and inside the incredible Titanic Belfast building. You’ll hear why and how RMS Titanic was built, what happened in its final hours and the tragic personal stories that are forever intertwined in the legend.

You’ll see the famous Harland & Wolff drawing offices, stand where Titanic once proudly overlooked the city from her slipway, listen to passenger stories, celebrate the architectural wonder that is Titanic Belfast and learn about the wider Titanic Quarter, teeming with bars, bites and lively riverside entertainment.

The tour is an emotional experience. You will feel something of what it was like to have worked in the shipyard and gain a sense of what it was like to be on board RMS Titanic on that fateful night in 1912. That was a night to remember, and this tour will stay with you for a long time too.

Meanwhile, The Belfast Story provides the ultimate cultural experience of a city that knows how to put on a show. Conor Owens, the passionate lead guide behind Belfast Hidden Tours, works with the very best in talent across the city in storytelling, music and Irish dancing.

The tour is unique in showcasing the songs, stories and music associated with Belfast and is an experience you will never forget as you sing along to home-grown traditional songs like ‘I’ll Tell Me Ma’.

For eco-friendly tours with local guides showing you the sights, some of which are only reachable by bike, head for Belfast City Bike Tours. Choose from six, fun and illuminating guided city tours.Easy-paced, they take in over 30 points of interest with plenty of photo opportunities. The tours are very safe, the bikes are cool, comfy and easy to pedal and guides know the area inside out.

Explore the historic Cathedral, Titanic, University, Gaeltacht quarters and stop for an extended coffee break at the wonderful St George’s Market.
