We are extremely grateful for the support of our colleagues during this difficult time – I know that we all look forward to getting back to work and demonstrating our famous hospitality and world-class service to all those who stay with us.’
New health and safety protocols developed with our parent company Accor and in line with local government guidelines have been instituted, with hotel staff orientated and trained in new procedures. Some of these measures include temperature checks for everyone entering the property, masks required throughout indoor public spaces and limited numbers of guests in elevators. Each guest room will be provided with a wellness kit which including masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and disinfecting wipes. Hand sanitizer stations have also been placed in key areas throughout the hotel for convenience.
Guest bedrooms and common areas will be cleaned to the highest standards by specially trained, professional housekeepers, using EPA registered disinfectants that have proven effective in preventing the transmission of all viruses and pathogens, including Covid-19 – in accordance with local health guidelines. As an additional precaution, guest rooms will be deep cleaned and left vacant for a minimum of 48 hours after each stay.
The new operational standards being implemented at Hamilton Princess and at Fairmont properties across North & Central America were developed and vetted by a team of expert advisors to ensure maximum efficacy in preventing the spread of all viruses and pathogens, including COVID-19, with oversight by Bureau Veritas, a world leader in testing, inspections and certification; Dr. Amesh Adalja, Senior Scholar at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Health Security & fellow with the Infectious Diseases Society of America; and Ruth Petran, Ph.D., CFS, Senior Corporate Scientist, Food Safety and Public Health, for Ecolab, global leaders in cleaning and hygiene, and trusted advisors to the CDC.
