Welcome to North Carolina in springtime! As the weather gets warmer, there’s lots of fun stuff happening across our state.
Start by checking out the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. From March to June, the views explode with colorful wildflowers like trout lilies and rhododendrons. You can also see awesome wildflower trails in parks like the Great Smoky Mountains or Raven Rock State Park.
If you like pretty gardens instead, visit Biltmore or Sarah P. Duke Gardens. Their flower beds and winding paths look amazing in spring. The tulips, daffodils, and other blooms are stunning to see.
Get your adrenaline pumping at the U.S. National Whitewater Center near Charlotte. Strap into a helmet and life jacket to ride the raging man-made rapids on a raft or kayak. If you’d rather stay dry, go hiking to check out waterfalls like Looking Glass Falls or Moore’s Wall Falls.
Catch a Durham Bulls baseball game for family-friendly fun. Enjoy yummy ballpark food, cool giveaways for kids, and weekly fireworks shows. You can also place bets on all the sports action now that North Carolina allows sports betting statewide.
With over 400 breweries, beer lovers will find tasty craft brews everywhere. Wineries are also fun to visit, especially in spring when the first grape buds appear.
Finally, dance along to live tunes at North Carolina’s big music festivals. Dreamville returns to Raleigh in April, while Charlotte hosts the new Lovin’ Life festival in May.
So get out and explore! North Carolina springs to life with cool stuff to see and do as the weather improves.
