Borgo San Vincenzo, Tuscany’s newest luxury boutique hotel, proudly announces that Jonathan Vargas, the hotel’s Head Concierge and Experiences Director, has achieved an induction into the prestigious Les Clefs d’Or Toscana association. This recognition is a testament to his ability to deliver the highest quality of service, becoming one of only 80 concierges in the region and the only one in the Valdichiana / Val d’Orcia valleys to be recognized with this honor.
Established in 1952 as the first association of hotel concierges in Italy, Les Clefs d’Or Italia or “Associazione Italiana Chiavi d’Oro” is based on the pillars of service and friendship. Jonathan has been formally inducted by Le Chiavi d’Oro Toscana, the Tuscan branch of the elite global society that recognizes the world’s finest hotel concierges. Before earning the right to wear the association’s renowned symbol on their lapels – two crossed golden keys – aspiring candidates must have several years of experience as a luxury hotel concierge, pass comprehensive testing, and prove, beyond a doubt, their ability to deliver the highest quality of service.
Morales Vargas, originally from Quito, Ecuador, pursued his secondary education in Information Systems and Business Administration. At the age of 19, he embarked on a trip to Italy, initially intended as an “exploratory vacation.” The trip ignited a profound love for Tuscany, leading him to relocate there permanently. Since then, Morales Vargas has dedicated his life to learning the region’s intricacies, beauty, and secrets, turning his passion for tourism into an educational journey focused on the art of Italian hospitality. While working in some of the most prestigious hotels in Valdichiana and Val d’Orcia, he embarked on his concierge career in 2013, driven by his greatest goal of sharing Tuscany’s beauty with guests – the same beauty that made him fall in love with the region two decades ago.
“Becoming a member of Les Clefs d’Or has been a lifelong aspiration, and I am incredibly honored to be among the few members of the organization working in the Tuscan countryside,” said Jonathan Vargas, Head Concierge and Experiences Director of Borgo San Vincenzo. “Along with our dedicated team, I hope to continue providing the highest level of service for our distinguished guests.”
“We are incredibly proud of Jonathan for this remarkable accomplishment. Our mission at Borgo San Vincenzo has always been centered around crafting experience-driven stays and Jonathan and his team are dedicated to making that mission a reality for guests looking to experience Tuscany. The fact that he’s one of the very few concierges with this distinction in the countryside is a testament to his dedication to not only creating these experiences but truly building relationships with guests and with partners in the area,” said Shannon Kircher, founder of Borgo San Vincenzo. “Being granted Les Clefs d’Or status is an exceptional honor, and concierge service at this level requires passion and dedication that really goes to the heart of hospitality.”
With an unwavering commitment to tailoring experiences to each guest’s unique preferences, Borgo San Vincenzo’s dedicated concierge services and experiences team are on hand to assist guests in curating personalized and private tastings, immersive cocktail classes, or intimate dinners. Guests can choose from an array of experiences, such as local wine tastings, indulging in organic olive oil and pecorino cheese tastings at local farms, participating in cooking and cocktail-making classes, and embarking on tours of the region by foot, horse, e-bike, Vespa, or hot air balloon.
