LA ROQQA will reopen for the 2025 season on April 17th in the charming Italian harbor of Porto Ercole. This year, the hotel is excited to launch a range of immersive experiences that celebrate the rich culture and natural beauty of the Maremma region—including a new and exclusive yacht, private wine-tasting experiences, cycling adventures, and a brand-new wellness space.
Born from the Swedish Jonsson family’s love of summers spent holidaying on Argentario Island, LA ROQQA has been transformed following a three-year renovation, led by Miramis Hospitality, from its former iteration to create something new and highly unique for the region. The 50-room-and-suite boutique hotel perfectly harmonizes with the surrounding landscape, with a contemporary and cosmopolitan feel by the renowned Milanese design house, Palomba e Serafini Associati Studio. The sleek and elegant design combines artisanal furnishings with iconic pieces from the 1960s and 1970s, while the color scheme reflects the region’s colors. Blending the past with the future, the hotel is immersed in a vibrant community’s social and architectural fabric, yet still within easy walking distance of one of the area’s few sandy beaches, home to the hotel’s beach club, Isolotto Beach Club.
New for this season, LA ROQQA has launched its exclusive Fjord 40 Open yacht, where guests can sail to the nearby islands of Giglio and Giannutri, complete with a private skipper and chef. Whether you are enjoying a sunset aperitif or joining a local legend on a fishing adventure, the surrounding waters promise unforgettable adventures.

Beyond the sea, travelers can ride on horseback through olive groves, fragrant rosemary fields, and sun-dappled forests or cycle along scenic routes through vineyards, ancient Etruscan paths, and coastal trails with spectacular island views. Whether on an e-bike, road bike, or mountain bike, there’s a route to suit every level. For hiking enthusiasts, the region’s rugged trails offer an immersive natural experience with the chance to discover hidden gems like Poggio Conte’s secluded waterfall.
The area also invites guests to indulge in unforgettable culinary experiences. Discover Maremma’s winemaking secrets with private tours of renowned wineries like Monteverro, La Parrina, and Val delle Rose. Guests can participate in hands-on cooking experiences at LA ROQQA, learning from expert chefs, picking fresh ingredients, and savoring Tuscany’s rich flavors. For an authentic farm-to-table experience, visit L’Orto Giusto, where guests can meet local artisans and enjoy a garden-fresh lunch in the open air. Back at the hotel’s rooftop restaurant, Scirocco continues to offer a contemporary take on traditional Tuscan cuisine, serving family-style dishes using local and organic ingredients, a passion of the Executive Chef, Francesco Ferretti.
Also new for this season, LA ROQQA has introduced an extraordinary Wellness Suite—a private sanctuary dedicated to relaxation and rejuvenation, with tailored treatments available for guests. Each treatment, from infrared saunas to massages and detox rituals, is designed to restore balance and vitality.
Just a few steps from the hotel, Isolotto Beach Club continues serving as LA ROQQA’s seaside extension, opening in full in June 2024. Unique to the region’s rocky landscape, Isolotto features the only sandy stretch of coastline on the island and has become the new social hub of Argentario. A vibrant beachside restaurant serves a fresh and colorful menu of locally sourced fish and seasonal grilled dishes. In true Italian ‘villeggiatura’ style, the shoreline is dotted with chic umbrellas and loungers.
