Tribe Hotel, a Family-Owned & Operated Five-Star Luxury Property in Nairobi, Announces First-Ever, Exclusive “Night Game Drives” in Nairobi National Park

Tribe Hotel, a family-owned and operated five-star luxury property in Nairobi, today announces the launch of the first-ever Night Game Drives in Nairobi National Park beginning in April 2025. The drives are available exclusively as part of the hotel’s Chieftains Program that redefines deluxe concierge services.

Nairobi National Park is the only national park in the world located within a capital city’s limits. It is 45.26 square miles, compared with New York City’s Central Park, which is 1.3 square miles.

An Unprecedented Experience of Nairobi’s Wildlife While Doing Good

The drives offer an unprecedented opportunity to see big cats, like lions and leopards, as well as rare nocturnal animals such as pangolins, aardvarks, genet cats, springhares and honey badgers. Each drive is US$350 per person, with US$40 earmarked for park fees that support conservation and park maintenance. The drives are family-friendly and suitable for adults and children six years old and older.

Dining Al Fresco at Sunset with an Intimate Group

A maximum of four hotel guests experience an elegant al fresco dinner and drinks, courtesy of the hotel’s acclaimed Jiko Restaurant, which are served during a sunset break. They enjoy an open-sided car that accommodates a driver and two armed Kenya Wildlife Service rangers who also act as tour guides.

“We are beyond excited to provide this unique opportunity for Tribe Hotel’s guests to experience Nairobi’s exceptional wildlife as never before,” says Shamim Ehsani, Co-Founder, Director & Developer, Tribe Hotel. “We are honored to collaborate with Nairobi National Park on these unprecedented nocturnal drives and delighted that a third of the proceeds go back to support this incredible, iconic resource. Uniquely located within the city’s limits, the park offers the backdrop of Nairobi’s spectacular nighttime skyline, which takes this encounter with nature to an incomparable level.”

The Chieftains Program Reimagines the Luxury Concierge

The Chieftains are Tribe Hotel’s version of an elevated concierge program. All guests who book a suite category room at the hotel or an airport transfer through the hotel have access to an assigned Chieftain who is available to the guest for the duration of their stay. There are currently six Chieftains who don bespoke uniforms specially designed by David Avido, a highly-acclaimed local fashion designer. Beyond suggesting restaurants and activities around the city or booking arrangements for guests, the Chieftains accompany guests on excursions and provide a true local’s perspective.

Other experiences guests can book via the Chieftains Program include:

  • A two-hour run with Patrick Makau, a former world record-holding, elite marathon runner
  • A gin-making experience with Kenyan Originals
  • A guided walk through Karura Forest
  • Shopping at the West African Market
  • Visits to the ateliers and studios of local fashion designers and visual artists
  • Honey harvesting with Jason Runo
  • Excursions to tea farms, coffee farms and Brown’s Cheese Farm
