Regenerative Botanical Farm, FRØNTERRA, Opens for the 2025 Season with NEW Immersive, Slow-Wellness Experiences

Just in time for mid-sommar, FRØNTERRA Farm —the beloved regenerative botanical farm and back-to-the-land slow-living retreat—will reopen its camp for the 2025 season. This year’s expanded summer offering invites guests to reconnect with nature through a renewed focus on slow living, wellness, and

Scandinavian-inspired serenity.

Located on 58 lush acres along the shores of the Bay of Quinte, a 10 minute walk from North Beach Provincial Park, Fronterra’s offering is more than a traditional weekend escape: rather, it includes an authentic farm stay in real canvas prospector tents that’s perfectly attuned to nature, along with seasonal experiences that speak to modern travellers’ desire for simplicity, sustainability, and elevated stillness.

This season, Fronterra will re-open their forest camping sites, each available for overnight bookings, and featuring luxurious Canadian-made king mattress, premium bedding, a private outdoor hot shower with eco-friendly toiletries, and a fully equipped kitchen with cast iron cookware and propane stove. Guests can enjoy the relaxed freedom to tailor-make their days any way they choose, while enjoying peaceful evenings by the fire.

The seasonal offering will also feature a newly expanded lineup of immersive experiences, for both overnight guests and day-trippers alike, designed to nourish body and mind, including:

  • Wild Picnics: Fronterra’s picnic experience invites guests to curate their own baskets from a thoughtfully stocked farm-to-basket market offering a comprehensive taste of the region. Think: local cheeses, artisanal snacks, and fresh-from-the-field provisions ready to be savoured. Guests are encouraged to enjoy their spread among the blooming flower fields—or retreat to a shaded, private tent for a more secluded moment.
  • Floral Immersions: Guests can enjoy a serene, self-guided “pick-your-own” flower experience on a stroll through Fronterra’s expansive seasonal flower fields or book a hands-on floral arranging workshop to reconnect with nature through colour, scent, and creativity.
  • Botanical Wellness Rituals: Rooted in the rhythms of nature and inspired by Nordic traditions, Fronterra’s reimagined wellness experiences invite guests to slow down and reconnect—with themselves and the land. This season, guests can indulge in a selection of self-guided wellness experiences featuring freshly harvested and custom tailored botanicals grown on-site. Every journey begins with an immersive nature soundscape and breath ritual, laying the foundation for rest and renewal.
  • Forest Lounges: Day visitors are invited to embrace friluftsliv, the scandinavian-inspired joy of slow living outdoors, in one of Fronterra’s lakeside Forest Lounges. Designed for solo relaxation, romantic escapes, or small gatherings of up to 8 people, this half- or full-day forest escape includes a canvas-covered dining area, shaded sun lounger, and cozy fireside seated area, as well as access to the property’s flower fields, vegetable garden, trails, and private dock.

“Fronterra isn’t just a destination. It’s a way of being,” says co-founder Jens Burgen. “Whether guests come for a quiet afternoon or a restorative long weekend, our intention is to help them slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with what truly matters.”

With a devoted following and a growing reputation for thoughtful, refined and design-forward escapes, Fronterra continues to set the standard for restorative and regenerative travel in Ontario and beyond.
