Hyatt Hotels Corporation and RLH Properties have announced the opening of Alila Mayakoba, marking the Alila brand’s first entry into Latin America and the Caribbean. Set within the celebrated Mayakoba enclave on Mexico’s Riviera Maya, the resort represents one of the brand’s most complete and immersive resort expressions to date, guided by Alila’s place-led philosophy and deep commitment to wellbeing.
Spanning 60 acres of beachfront, lagoon, and jungle, Alila Mayakoba offers 182 guestrooms, suites, and villas designed to dissolve the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. Architecture and interiors emphasize natural materials, open-air design, and a restrained aesthetic that draws from the surrounding mangroves, waterways, and Caribbean light. Nearly 40 percent of accommodations are suites, including a beachfront Presidential Suite, with tranquil pools woven throughout the property.
At the heart of the resort is a culturally grounded approach to wellbeing shaped in collaboration with local Mayan elders, therapists, and philosophers. Guests are welcomed with ancestral rituals and invited to participate in immersive Alila Moments—experiences rooted in Mayan cosmology that foster reflection, renewal, and connection to the land. This philosophy extends to Spa Alila at Mayakoba, where treatments and rituals are guided by living traditions and the sacred Tzolk’in calendar, alongside temazcal ceremonies, sound immersions, and nature-led movement practices.
Dining at Alila Mayakoba reflects a similarly thoughtful sense of place, with six distinct venues ranging from beachfront dining to intimate chef-led experiences. Highlights include the return of Casa Amate, long regarded as a culinary icon in the destination, alongside relaxed coastal concepts, a zero-waste chef’s atelier rooted in on-site gardens, and open-air venues celebrating regional flavors and elevated street food.

Designed as both a sanctuary and a social setting, Alila Mayakoba balances serene lagoon-side spaces ideal for quiet immersion with a more relaxed, family-friendly beachfront atmosphere. From wellness-focused stays and romantic escapes to celebrations and gatherings, the resort offers a refined yet grounded interpretation of luxury—one that is deeply connected to nature, culture, and a slower, more intentional rhythm of travel.
