From February 22 to 28, 2026, Martinique, will host the first official edition of the Martinique Wing Adventure, an international long-distance wingfoil competition bringing together leading figures from the global circuit. Organized by the WIND Force Sailing Club of Le Robert, the event aims to position the island as a new benchmark for high-level wingfoil.
Renowned for its exceptional nautical conditions, Martinique benefits from steady trade winds, warm waters year-round and a wide variety of sailing areas. These natural assets make the island particularly suited for high-performance water sports and elite competitions.
Wingfoil : A rapidly growing global discipline
Over the past few years, wingfoil has experienced strong international growth. Driven by technological innovation, the development of professional circuits and a new generation of athletes, the discipline has become one of the most dynamic water sports worldwide.
Present on major international events, wingfoil stands out for:
- its spectacular nature,
- its technical demands,
- its versatility (race, freestyle, long distance),
- its strong development potential.
In this context, the Martinique Wing Adventure represents a new strategic step in the international calendar.
An elite competition dedicated to long distance
Unlike traditional formats, the Martinique Wing Adventure is mainly based on long-distance racing, which is extremely demanding both physically and technically.
This format remains rare worldwide and is organized by only a few structures internationally, making the event particularly attractive to top riders.
For this reason, the main race will feature 16 selected athletes, all specialists in long-distance wingfoil.
Long-distance racing combines:
- extended race sections,
- navigation in wave and swell conditions,
- advanced weather and sea-reading skills.
Some stages, especially Robert – Grand Rivière and Marin – Diamant – Marin, can present challenging marine conditions, requiring a rigorous selection of participants.
A multi-stage racing format
The 2026 edition will combine long-distance raids and coastal regattas, structured around six stages and one prologue.
