Wizz Air Launches Direct London – Yerevan Flights, Opening the Door to Armenia’s Rich Culture, Cuisine and Adventure for UK Travelers

Armenia is now more accessible than ever for British travellers following the launch of Wizz Air’s new direct service between London and Yerevan.

The inaugural flight landed in Yerevan on 8 June 2026, marking a significant milestone in connectivity between the United Kingdom and Armenia. The new route will operate twice weekly, offering convenient direct access to one of Europe’s most exciting emerging travel destinations.

The new service connects London Luton Airport with Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport, opening the door for UK visitors to experience Armenia’s unique blend of ancient heritage, vibrant urban culture, dramatic landscapes, and renowned hospitality.

For UK travellers, Armenia offers a unique mix of culture, history and adventure. Visitors can explore Yerevan, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities, discover UNESCO-listed heritage sites and ancient monasteries set against dramatic mountain landscapes, and experience a winemaking tradition that spans more than 6,100 years, including the world’s oldest known winery in the world. From hiking, cycling and skiing to a vibrant culinary scene that blends traditional flavours with contemporary creativity, Armenia offers diverse experiences throughout the year.

The launch of the Wizz Air direct route is expected to strengthen tourism, business, and cultural ties between Armenia and the United Kingdom, while making Armenia an attractive option for British travellers seeking authentic, lesser-known destinations beyond Europe’s traditional tourism hotspots.

“Direct flights from London make Armenia easier than ever to discover,” said Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairperson of the Tourism Committee of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Armenia. “Whether visitors are looking for culture, gastronomy, adventure, history, or simply a new destination to explore, Armenia offers an extraordinary experience that remains refreshingly authentic.”

With direct flights now operating between London and Yerevan twice a week on Mondays and Fridays, Armenia is closer than ever to British travellers looking for a year-round destination for city breaks, cultural tourism, and adventure travel.
