A New Hotel to Open in Milos, Greece This June

Empiria Group will open Eréma, a Member of Design Hotels, on June 15, 2026, marking the hospitality group’s first property on the island of Milos and its continued expansion in the Cyclades.

Set on the southeastern coast of Milos near Provatas Beach, Eréma is conceived as a retreat of openness and restraint. Architecture and interiors respond directly to the island’s volcanic terrain rather than competing with it. Designed by Athens-based ID Laboratorium led by Stamos Hondrodimos, the hotel draws from the island’s mineral-rich landscape, using stone, marble, and softened earth tones to create spaces that feel grounded, calm, and contemporary. Throughout the property, generous openings and fluid transitions encourage a continuous relationship between interior spaces and the horizon beyond.

“In a world that feels increasingly fast and uncertain, people are seeking places that allow them to recalibrate,” said Kalia Konstantinidou, co-founder of Empiria Group. “Milos offers something deeply restorative. Its minerals, its light, and its geological layers create a sense of grounding that feels especially relevant today. Eréma was shaped as a place of pause, and as a natural counterpart to the livelier energy of Paros or the iconic and cinematic Santorini. All together, they offer a more complete way of experiencing the Cyclades.”

Eréma comprises 41 all-suite accommodations, each featuring a private pool and uninterrupted panoramic views of the Aegean Sea. The suites are arranged across four categories, all designed to support generous indoor-outdoor living.

The Element Suites are intimate one-bedroom retreats with private terraces and pools, oriented toward open skies and distant horizons. The Drift Suites introduce a separate living room and a more expansive layout, paired with sun-drenched terraces designed for long, unhurried days. The Horizon Suites, the hotel’s largest category, are designed for lingering, with flowing interiors that open directly to private outdoor spaces and sea views that stretch toward the horizon. The Unity Suites offer two-bedroom configurations suited to families or longer stays, combining generous interior space with expansive terraces and private pools.

Designed to achieve LEED Gold certification, Eréma is positioned among the most environmentally conscious hospitality developments in the Aegean. By integrating advanced sustainable practices such as integrating energy-efficient building systems, responsible material sourcing, native landscaping and water-conservation strategies throughout the property – the project ensures a minimal environmental footprint while curating transformative moments that embody the spirit of Cycladic living.

The hotel will feature two restaurants, with menus created by celebrated Greek chef Yiannis Kioroglou, whose approach centers on authentic local cuisine, thoughtfully reinterpreted with modern technique and a deep respect for seasonal ingredients. Kioroglou’s career spans some of Europe’s most acclaimed dining destinations, shaping a refined yet approachable culinary philosophy. Kioroglou began his journey with Empiria Group in Paros with the opening of Parostia at Cosme in 2022, where he joined from La Petite Maison in Cannes and La Guerite in Saint Barth and with a background in some of Europe’s favorite dining spots.

The resort will also feature Elios spa with a bespoke menu featuring active treatments and products that draw inspiration from the healing properties of minerals, creating a holistic experience designed to restore balance to mind, body, and soul.

Additionally, gym facilities and a series of open-air communal spaces encourage informal gatherings and connection, rather than fixed programming. The overall emphasis is on balance, ease, and a sense of freedom shaped by the landscape itself.

Eréma will also house the third Cycladic boutique by Anthologist, the Athens-based design and cultural brand known for its considered selection of objects, textiles, and craft rooted in place. The boutique extends the hotel’s material narrative, offering guests a tactile connection to contemporary design and artisanal culture that aligns with the spirit of Milos.

Located seven kilometers from Milos Airport and 11 kilometers from Adamas Port, Eréma offers a sense of seclusion while remaining easily accessible. The hotel invites guests to slow their pace, step away from excess, and experience Milos through its most essential elements: land, stone, sea, and light.

Founded by Antonis Eliopoulos and Kalia Konstantinidou, Empiria Group has built a reputation for creating hotels deeply rooted in their destination, the opening of Eréma represents a considered next chapter for the group, which first established its identity in Santorini in the late 1990s, introducing contemporary luxury to the island. Since then, Empiria has expanded across the Cyclades with destinations such as Parīlio on Paros and Cosme, a Luxury Collection Resort. Where Paros offers a more animated, social rhythm and Santorini has a global appeal due to its unique cinematic caldera, Milos introduces a counterpoint, allowing the group to explore a different pace for travelers.
