Tordrillo Mountain Lodge, Alaska’s premier luxury adventure resort, announced today that it will open for the summer season on June 5, and reservations are available now. A new nonstop airlift to Anchorage from major cities, including New York, San Diego, and Washington, D.C., is making Alaska more accessible than ever, and any trip to Tordrillo Mountain Lodge begins and ends in Anchorage. This summer, the remote resort will offer highly curated, luxury experiences to every guest for the Alaskan adventure of a lifetime.
A summer trip to Alaska tops many bucket lists. The skies are a brilliant blue, the sun ceases to set and the colors of wildflowers and lush forests form a postcard-worthy landscape. At Tordrillo Mountain Lodge, guests experience the best of the Last Frontier – with exclusive adventures for all levels, daily gourmet meals prepared by the resort’s private chef, soaks under the twilight sky in the custom hot tub on the waterfront overlooking the mountains, and thoughtfully appointed accommodations in the resort’s intimate lakeside lodge.
Beginning with its exclusive, monthlong Summer Skiing & Fishing program in June – where guests can heli-ski corn snow in the morning and go out on a fully outfitted and guided fishing excursion in the late afternoon – the resort’s summer season makes for the adventure of a lifetime. Once guests arrive via private float plane from Anchorage, they will experience unparalleled access to three national parks, exclusive use of Alaska’s first via ferrata climbing route, private guided heli-flyfishing and rafting excursions, as well as cold water plunges and watersports on the resort’s private lake.
Below are just some of the new offerings and highlights.
- New Airlift – Any trip to Tordrillo Mountain Lodge begins and ends in Anchorage; and a number of major airlines have recently announced significant increases in their nonstop service to Anchorage for the summer. Alaska Airlines will launch two new nonstops – from San Diego International Airport in May, and New York’s JFK in June. And, this summer, United Airlines will introduce the only nonstop flight from Washington, D.C. to ANC – running daily from Dulles. Additionally, United will offer 10 daily flights to Alaska – the most in more than ten years for the airline, which cites an increased demand from travelers wanting to get outdoors and visit scenic destinations, including national parks.
- Exclusive National Park Access – With exclusive use of the resort’s private Otter plane, guests of Tordrillo Mountain Lodge have an unparalleled opportunity to experience three national parks, including Katmai and Lake Clark, which are among the least visited due to the difficult nature of accessing them. Guests can enjoy the once-in-a-lifetime experience of watching the brown bears at Katmai’s Brooks Falls or tour Dick Proennekke’s hand-built homestead on the shores of Lake Clark.
- World’s Most Remote Padel Tennis Court – Fans and newcomers to one of the country’s fastest growing sports, padel tennis, can earn bragging rights on Tordrillo Mountain Lodge’s court, which was specially designed and custom-built for the property and features court-level gates for snow removal in the case of late-season snow. As with the property’s other activities, there’s no need for guests to bring their own gear – the lodge has footwear in a variety of sizes, padel racquets and balls.
Summer packages include round-trip transportation from Anchorage to Tordrillo Mountain Lodge via the resort’s private float plane; daily heli excursions for skiing, fishing, hiking, rafting, or via ferrata; unlimited lodge activities; one massage per adult; fully outfitted and expert-guided adventures; gourmet meals from the resort’s private chef; and overnight accommodations in Anchorage on arrival day.
