Qarlbo Hospitality, owner of LA ROQQA Hotel in Tuscany, Cirkus Arena in Stockholm, ABBA Voyage in London, and ABBA The Museum in Stockholm, proudly announces the evolution of its Stockholm properties with the launch of Backstage Zone – a new hospitality and cultural hub on Djurgården, also referred to as Stockholm Central Park.
At the heart of the launch is the Hotel, a design-led boutique property, that opened just over two years ago and quickly gained a loyal following for its high-design aesthetic, artistic energy, and deep connection to music and art. Now, the hotel expands into a complete cultural quarter, with the addition of a Brasserie, a Bar, and a Café – all under one roof and all part of the same “backstage spirit” that defines the hotel.
Backstage Zone is located in one of Stockholm’s most entertainment-dense neighborhoods. Housed in an iconic building directly opposite Cirkus Arena – the largest privately owned theatre in the Nordics – and next door to the legendary Hasselbacken Hotel, birthplace of the iconic Hasselback potato, both properties are part of the Qarlbo portfolio.
The Zone itself sits within the walls of ABBA The Museum and just across the street from Mamma Mia The Party. It is surrounded by world-class venues including Gröna Lund, which hosts over 40 international concerts annually, as well as popular cultural attractions such as Skansen, Liljevalchs Art Gallery, the Vasa Museum and the Viking Museum.
It is a destination born out of its environment: a place designed to amplify the energy of a live show, or to offer stillness and warmth once the curtain falls. Whether guests are here for a concert, a museum, a festival, or just a long weekend – Backstage Zone is a place to pause, gather, and experience the city in the beauty of its lush green surroundings, steps away from the city centre.

STOCKHOLM A UNIQUE ISLAND CITY ON THE RISE
Built across 13 islands, Stockholm is a capital like no other – a city where water, art, nature and innovation converge. With a growing reputation for culture, sustainability, and creative talent, Stockholm is increasingly seen as one of Europe’s most exciting urban destinations.
The island of Djurgården, where Backstage Zone is located, is often referred to as Stockholm’s Central Park – a vast green space filled with museums, music, gardens and walking paths. Just minutes from the city centre by foot, tram or boat, it offers both serenity and stimulation.
FROM BOUTIQUE HOTEL TO CREATIVE QUARTER
Backstage Hotel offers 52 rooms, and 5, design-forward suites. The interiors echo the feeling of being behind the scenes at a great performance – rich in texture, layered in story, and always with music in the background. The new additions bring the backstage atmosphere into dining and social spaces:
• Backstage Brasserie serves up bold takes on classic cuisine.
• Backstage Bar offers expertly mixed cocktails, vinyl spins and a laid-back vibe.
• Backstage Café is a light-filled retreat for coffee, sweet things and small bites.
“We created Backstage Zone because we believe hospitality can be more than a place to sleep or eat — it can be a portal into the cultural life of a city. This is our way of bringing people closer to the energy, creativity, and pulse of Stockholm.” – Satu Andersson, CEO of Backstage
