Music festival season has just started, and the biggest events are luring festival-goers from around Europe. Leading online Travel Agent Opodo has pulled data to reveal a picture of who’s heading where to enjoy live music again after two years of Covid disruption.
- Nos Alive in Lisbon, 6-10 July
Placed in the beautiful riverside area of Algés in Oeiras, Portugal, Nos Alive is an annual music and arts festival, famous for hosting the greatest music faces. This year visitors will be able to see The Strokes, Stromae, Royal Blood, Metallica, Imagine Dragons and much more.
- FIB in Benicassim, 14-17 July
The Festival Internacional de Benicàssim (FIB) is Spain’s huge indie and alternative music festival happening annually in the town of Benicassim in the north of Valencia. Including a wide variety of activities such as short films, fashion shows and art, the music festival focuses mainly on pop, rock and electronica artists. This year’s lineup includes Steve Aoki, Lost Frequencies, The Kooks, and Tom Walker, among many others.
Sziget, in Budapest, 10-15 August
This festival appears to have a substantial impact in the city which claims an increase of 19% of people arriving in Budapest that week vs the week before, lured by a potent blend of rock, heavy metal, and psychedelic rock, to reggae, pop and hip-hop, this year.
Lollapalooza in Berlin, 24-25 September
Originally from the US, the famous worldwide festival has expanded to other cities, and the first in Europe was the German capital, Berlin which is bringing together some of pop, rock, and dance music’s biggest stars. This year the lineup includes Anne-Marie, Robin Schulz, Paolo Nutini, Machine Gun Kelly, and much more.
