Three Waters Resort & Marina, a Tribute Portfolio Resort in the Florida Keys, will open its doors in Fall 2024. This new upscale resort will elevate the guest experience and become the crown jewel for the Islamorada Resort Collection, which also includes the beloved Amara Cay Resort and La Siesta Resort & Villas. Offering an energizing escape in the “Sport Fishing Capital of the World,” Three Waters Resort & Marina spans 15 acres of oceanfront property and will feature 214 chic, island-inspired guest rooms, nine distinct new dining concepts, and a wide variety of authentic and upscale experiences for guests to discover.
Three Waters Resort & Marina joins Tribute Portfolio, the growing collection of characterful, independent hotels from Marriott Bonvoy, as the brand’s first location in the Florida Keys. The property celebrates the three most beloved elements of the destination: the sun, the sand, and the water. These elements are highlighted in the design, colors, and materials used throughout Three Waters to bring to life the beauty of Islamorada in an unexpected oceanfront experience unlike any resort currently in the Florida Keys.
The new resort will feature The Cove, an adult-centric, resort-within-a-resort, boasting bright, island-inspired guestrooms and suites with only king beds, a tranquil private beach lagoon, and the resort’s Wave Motion Studio. The remaining guest rooms and cottages of Three Waters Resort & Marina will be the epicenter of the resort, with a family-friendly, Florida Keys-inspired aesthetic. The enhanced lobby for Three Waters Resort & Marina provides a feeling of nature using materials like local coral stone and vegetation that reflects the mangroves of the Keys. It also boasts a Rum Library where guests can enjoy tastings throughout their stay. Guests will feel like they are arriving at a tropical modern living room welcoming them to the Florida Keys. As a Tribute Portfolio Resort, the property will serve as a most-welcomed escape for those seeking captivating design, vibrant social spaces, and moments of sincere service.
“Guests are invited to discover an all-new Florida Keys experience at Three Waters Resort & Marina, a Tribute Portfolio Resort, where we are blending the history and authentic spirit of Islamorada with new and unique guest experiences,” says General Manager Matt Skaletsky. “We will offer something special for every guest. Whether you’re looking for innovative culinary experiences, unparalleled fishing and watersport adventures, a relaxing family vacation, or a romantic couples’ getaway, the new Florida Keys awaits.”
Culinary Destinations
The new resort will introduce nine culinary concepts, making Three Waters Resort & Marina a standout gastronomical destination with culinary experiences never before offered in Islamorada. Highlights include:
- Signature restaurant (name to be announced): Three Waters’ signature restaurant will feature live fire cooking on an open hearth at the center of the restaurant. Diners will choose from an a la carte menu selection featuring the best locally procured ingredients from the sea and land, prepared on the wood-fired grill. Guests returning from a day of fishing can also bring their best catches for the chefs to prepare for their table.
- Tiki Bar: The Collection’s world-famous Tiki Bar will unveil a totally refreshed look. This legendary and beloved outdoor establishment in the Florida Keys is home to the original Rum Runner cocktail, and Tiki Bar will undoubtedly continue to be a guest favorite with themed cocktails and elevated fare. The reimagined bar will feature a nod to mid-century modern aesthetic with contemporary touches and a design palette with pops of saturated colors, vintage patterns, weathered finishes, and textural bamboo. Its storied legacy as one of the most iconic destinations on the island will be carried on, welcoming a new generation of guests to indulge and reminisce on good times.
- Mercado Morada: Situated directly next to the ocean, Mercado Morada will celebrate Central American cuisine and street food culture, featuring several food truck windows that offer a fast casual dining option for guests and locals. Architectural elements like its tasteful use of repurposed materials connect the space to its street food roots and help create a vibrant and approachable atmosphere.
- Little Limón: Perched above Mercado Morada, Little Limón will bring an elevated cocktail and raw bar experience to the resort. Guests can enjoy the freshest catch from local waters and breathtaking, 270-degree views of the ocean. Latin ceviche, crudos, and freshly shucked oysters are just a sampling of the small plates available at the restaurant which are paired best with its premium tequila and mezcal. The restaurant plays off of Mercado Morada’s Central American flare yet features a more private, intimate atmosphere.
- Islamorada Pizza Co.: The new Islamorada Pizza Co. will serve up signature pizza pies, fresh salads, frosé, beer and wine. The restaurant will feature an indoor-outdoor layout that allows guests to enjoy the bustle of activity inside or revel in family moments under the shade of a large Banyan tree in the outdoor garden. Retro art and beachy color displays reflect both the geometry of pizza and the vibrant destination.
- Lucky Twist: A new soft-serve shop for the resort, Lucky Twist is located just steps away from Three Waters’ walk-in beach. The shop will serve classic soft serve and sweet treats along with a trendy bicycle service that delivers refreshing desserts to guests poolside and beachside.
- Kokomo: Guests will never have to leave the pool for drinks or light bites with the resort’s swim-up bar, Kokomo.
- Hideaway: Located poolside at The Cove, Hideaway will offer healthy dining options and lighter cocktails for guests looking to refresh after a swim or a workout in the resort’s Wave Motion Studio.
- Starbucks: An ever-popular favorite for coffee and light bites, the Starbucks at Three Waters Resort is a must-visit for guests, road trippers, and locals alike.
Resort Programming
Three Waters Resort & Marina was named for the three bodies of water that surround the Florida Keys: the Gulf of Mexico, the Florida Bay, and the Atlantic Ocean. Located within the “Sport Fishing Capital of the World,” Three Waters will have guests checking in and casting out upon arrival. New water-inspired experiences launching in 2024 will have a strong focus on education. With the help of seasoned Florida Keys captains and fisherman, guests will learn the best practices for fly casting, boating 101, fishing tips, fileting fish, lobstering, and more.
The Marina at Three Waters Resort boasts the deepest channel in the Upper Keys and will feature 72 slips total, including 20 transient slips between the resort’s full-service marina and The Cove. For a seamless boating experience, the marina will feature a new boat valet service. Guests can experience fishing in Islamorada with the resort’s full fleet of experienced offshore and backcountry fishing captains.
An all-new water taxi, Rum Runner, will be available to transport guests between resorts within the Islamorada Resort Collection and Miami Seaplane will be based at the resort and offer a seaplane service from Miami as well as charters to Key West and around Islamorada. Guests can easily book jet ski tours and guided eco-tours with Spray Watersports located at The Cove’s marina. Three Waters is also home to the Islamorada Dive Center where guests can book scuba diving charters, take scuba courses, and enjoy snorkeling, spearfishing, sunset cruises, sandbar outings and more. When guests stay at one of the resorts in the Collection, they will have access to the unique amenities, events, and restaurants of all three resorts.
Wellness will also be at the forefront of the new resort experience, offering sunrise and full moon yoga, Reiki and sound bowl meditations, and new swimming lanes.
Additionally, two new retail options will join the resort. Abel’s Tackle Shop and General Goods will offer easy access to boaters and fishermen at the marina to stock up on supplies, bait, tackle, and fuel. Salt + Sea Islamorada Lifestyle will feature island apparel for all, locally curated keepsakes, and more.
Inspired by the feeling of discovering an unseen paradise, the Islamorada Resort Collection is creating an island-chic aesthetic unique to the Keys. From sunrise to sunset, the lively marina, unrivaled beachfront, and extensive programming facilitate families and couples moving seamlessly between adventure and relaxation, all woven together by a common thread of authentic Keys flavor and culture. Its location on Islamorada provides an unparalleled blend of convenience and escape, and its team of savvy locals are the perfect companions to help unlock the authentic spirit of the Keys. The resort is committed to offering its own special flavor of upscale hospitality that puts guests’ needs first, without sacrificing any of the personality and fun that has always been the hallmark of the Keys.
