Castello di Vicarello unveils its first private Villa: ‘Villa La Vedetta’

Located in the heart of the beautiful Maremma region of Tuscany, Castello di Vicarello is an exclusive, family-owned, and award-winning 12th-century castle hotel owned by the Baccheschi-Berti family. Brand new for the 2025 season, Castello di Vicarello will unveil Villa La Vedetta. Historically a 12th-century watchtower, the building is undergoing meticulous reconstruction and renovation to transform it into a private villa. Spanning 210 square meters, with over four stories of living space, this latest accommodation boasts spectacular views of both the castle and the vineyards across the estate. It will be home to two elegant suites, each with marble ensuite bathrooms, a custom-made free-standing copper bathtub, and black-and-white checkered marble floors. The ground floor will boast a grand fireplace and a fully equipped kitchen that opens into a winter garden. Guests can expect a real sense of exclusivity within the villa’s 450 square meters of private gardens, rooftop terrace, and personal 4×7 meter heated swimming pool. Guests can opt for an in-house chef service ahead of their stay and enjoy access to the wider estate’s facilities and experiences, allowing for the ultimate retreat, with all the convenience of a hotel stay.

The Maremma region is a stunning area located in the southern part of Tuscany, Italy. It stretches from the coast along the Tyrrhenian Sea to the inland hills and covers parts of both the provinces of Grosseto and Livorno. Maremma is known for its diverse landscapes, including rolling hills, pristine beaches, vineyards, olive groves, and marshlands. The region is rich in history, with roots dating back to the Etruscans, and features medieval towns, archaeological sites, and traditional farms.

Maremma is famous for its excellent wines (such as Morellino di Scansano), local cuisine (including wild boar dishes and pecorino cheese), and outdoor activities like horseback riding, hiking, and cycling. The coastal area boasts beautiful beaches and nature reserves, such as the Parco della Maremma, while inland, you can find charming hilltop towns like Pitigliano, Sovana, and Massa Marittima.

It’s an ideal destination for travelers seeking a mix of cultural experiences, natural beauty, and authentic Italian lifestyle, away from the more crowded tourist spots in Tuscany.
