The award-winning outdoor show celebrating the story of England made an explosive return on Saturday at the 11Arches Park in Bishop Auckland.

Kynren – An Epic Tale of England transports its audiences back through time on an unforgettable journey spanning 2,000 years.

Performed by a 1,000-strong cast and crew on a 7.5-acre outdoor stage, the multi-award winning show is ranked among the Top 5 Performances to see in the UK on TripAdvisor.

This epic tale follows a young boy, Arthur on his spellbinding journey through time and is packed with pomp and pageantry, thrilling choreography, amazing stunts, incredible equestrianism, world-class special effects and pyrotechnics.

From Boudicca’s battles with the Romans to two world wars, via Vikings, Tudors and the fate of Charles I, Kynren’s a spellbinding, family-friendly experience delivering thrills, shocks, tears, laughs, goosebumps and gasps on a truly cinematic scale.

After having to be postponed due to covid in 2020, it was a particularly emotional return for one of the UK’s biggest outdoor live theatre events.

“All of us have missed the camaraderie, fun and feeling of community that an event like this brings. There is a real sense of hope, excitement and pride that we’re back,” said Anne-Isabelle Daulon, CEO and Co-Founder of 11Arches.

Kynren takes place every Saturday evening until 11th September 2021 in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
