Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is excited to introduce The Beast Whisky Weekend, an exclusive high-end event taking place from April 25-27, 2025. This intimate gathering offers whisky aficionados a unique opportunity to savour some of the world’s rarest and most exquisite whiskies amidst the breathtaking Canadian Rocky Mountains
Event Highlights:
- Friday Night Six-Course Closed Distilleries Gala Dinner featuring whiskies worth nearly $45,000
- Saturday Single Malt Scotch Whisky Tasting with seven whiskies valued at approximately $2,000
- Saturday Evening “Beauty and the Beast” Auction and Dining Experience at Maligne Range Distillery
- Sunday Champagne Brunch
The event will be hosted by Richard Urquhart, a fourth-generation member of the family that owns the prestigious Gordon & MacPhail Scotch whisky company. Other notable participants include James Bornn from Authentic Wine & Spirits, Andrew Ferguson from Kensington Wine Market, and Bryce Parsons & Brett Ireland from Maligne Range Distillery.
“The Beast Whisky Weekend represents the peak of luxury whisky experiences,” said Garrett Turta, General Manager at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. “This new event presents an exciting opportunity for our guests to experience some of the world’s most exclusive whiskies, support the Jasper community, all while experiencing the awe-inspiring beauty of Jasper National Park.”
A highlight of the weekend will be the auction of four bottles of The Beast Wildfire Whisky, a unique spirit created during the 2016 Fort McMurray wildfire. Proceeds will benefit Jasper and Fort McMurray community and sustainability efforts.
“At Maligne Range, we’re deeply committed to our Jasper community, and supporting The Beast Auction is a natural extension of that. This exceptional whisky was born from the resilience of Fort McMurray’s firefighters, and now, through this event, we have the opportunity to extend its impact to Jasper—the place we call home. We’re proud to be part of something that not only celebrates craftsmanship but also brings people together to support and uplift our community,” shared Brett Ireland, Chief Executive Officer, Bearhill Brewing.
