Luxury Private Island Resort Ambergris Cay Expands Airport Capabilities

The premier private-island resort in Turks and Caicos increases flight access to allow private planes up to 28 meters in size to fly direct into their international airport

Ambergris Cay, Turks and Caicos’ premier private island resort and homeownership community, announces the expansion of its dedicated airport ahead of summer travel. Home to one of the longest runways in the Caribbean, newly expanded capabilities and enhanced classifications, including Tier 1 status, now allow larger private aircrafts to land directly at Ambergris Cay International Airport, adding to how guests can arrive at the exclusive island resort.

“Our team believes that the luxury experience should be felt by travelers at every step of the journey,” said Guillaume Aublet, general manager at Ambergris Cay. “We are thrilled to make that point of access even smoother for affluent travelers to arrive in style as we expand our international airport capabilities further to welcome larger carriers for direct landings.”

The private island resort continues to seek opportunities to enhance the arrival experience. On the heels of the newly launched direct flights to South Caicos International Airport, Ambergris Cay has arranged for transfer services from this additional arrival point. This will add to the existing service where guests who arrive at Howard Hamilton International Airport in Providenciales are provided with the same complimentary transfer to the private island resort. This June, Ambergris Cay will welcome its latest aircraft, a 19-seater Twin Otter, that will accommodate even larger groups for transfers from the two mainland routes.

“By increasing the arrival options among the island and destination, from our larger transfer carrier to the new route from South Caicos, we have created a more seamless journey to an exclusive getaway at Ambergris Cay,” continued Aublet.

Ambergris Cay provides a secluded, nature-luxe setting for affluent travelers and vacation homeowners. The resort is home to a variety of quaint bungalows and expansive luxury villas, including the newest Dream Estate, boasting ten bedrooms, a private spa, personal gym, two butlers and two private chefs, alongside additional amenities. During their stay, guests are treated to the island’s unique experiences, from activities such as stargazing, nature trails and whale-watching to exploring the native flora and fauna or relaxing at the resort’s Hangover Bar, a charming, floating tiki bar only reachable via boat ride and included as part of the included experiences.
