MGallery Expands to the Maldives with V Villas Mirihi

An exclusive all-villa resort set to bring curated boutique luxury to the Indian Ocean

MGallery Collection, Accor Group’s boutique portfolio within its luxury division, has announced the signing of V Villas Maldives at Mirihi – MGallery Collection, an exclusive all-villa resort set to debut in early 2026. Located on the pristine private island of Mirihi in the South Ari Atoll, the project will mark MGallery’s first presence in the Maldives, expanding the brand’s global collection of character-driven, story-led properties in one of the world’s most coveted island destinations.

Formerly operating as Mirihi Island Resort, the property will undergo a comprehensive transformation and expansion ahead of its relaunch under the MGallery Collection banner. The reimagined resort, designed by acclaimed international architecture and design studio Studio Gronda, will comprise 42 refined villas, including beachfront retreats, overwater villas, and spacious multi-bedroom pool suites. Each accommodation is thoughtfully conceived to immerse guests in the natural beauty of the Indian Ocean while delivering the sense of intimacy, individuality, and emotional connection that defines the MGallery experience.

Rooted in the philosophy of quiet luxury, the resort draws inspiration from Maldivian heritage and the rhythms of island life. Named after the delicate Mirihi flower, the island invites guests to slow down and reconnect—with nature, with themselves, and with the present moment. Surrounded by vibrant coral reefs and a calm, protected lagoon, V Villas Maldives at Mirihi – MGallery Collection is designed to exist in harmony with its surroundings, creating an atmosphere of understated elegance, serenity, and effortless comfort.

The resort is owned by VIE Maldives Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Thailand-based Major Cineplex Group, underscoring the Group’s ongoing commitment to developing exceptional hospitality experiences across Asia’s most iconic destinations. The project is led by Vicha Poolvaraluck, the visionary behind several celebrated MGallery Collection properties in Thailand, including VIE Hotel Bangkok – MGallery Collection, V Villas Hua Hin – MGallery Collection, and V Villas Phuket – MGallery Collection.

“We are delighted to introduce the MGallery brand to one of the world’s most aspirational destinations,” said Maud Bailly, CEO of Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems. “Building on the success of our flagship properties in Bangkok, Hua Hin, and Phuket, V Villas Maldives at Mirihi – MGallery Collection will be a refined sanctuary—an authentic hideaway where every stay is shaped by a deep and meaningful connection with nature.”

Mr. Vicha Poolvaraluck added, “We are proud to partner with MGallery Collection on this exceptional project. Strengthened by our long-standing relationship with Accor, V Villas Maldives at Mirihi brings the brand’s vision of soulful travel and quiet luxury to life, set against the extraordinary natural beauty of Mirihi Island and the rich cultural tapestry of the Maldives.”

Guests will arrive via a seamless 25-minute seaplane flight from Malé International Airport, touching down to an environment that blends relaxed sophistication with elevated contemporary design. The resort’s extensive renovation will introduce refreshed interior concepts across all villas featuring coral-stone textures and natural materials, alongside a new signature spa and wellness sanctuary. Additional enhancements include a state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor gym, a yoga pavilion, upgraded dining venues—including an overwater restaurant—a new bar concept, and a newly designed main pool area.

At the heart of the rebranding is a strong commitment to environmental stewardship and immersive guest experiences. Designed to inspire stillness and wonder, the resort will offer curated wellness journeys alongside world-class diving and snorkeling, with opportunities to encounter manta rays and whale sharks in the surrounding waters. The project also forms part of Accor’s ESG pilot program, with sustainability integrated throughout the resort’s design, daily operations, and overall guest experience.

With a portfolio of more than 120 boutique hotels worldwide, MGallery Collection continues to grow its presence in exceptional leisure destinations. The addition of V Villas Maldives at Mirihi – MGallery Collection further strengthens the brand’s positioning as a curator of meaningful, design-forward stays in destinations that leave a lasting emotional imprint.
