Just this year, they were tipped off to an incredible glass blowing experience with Carbondale based Spiro Lyon Glass led by Jacqueline Spiro Balderson. We connected with Jacqueline to learn more about their glass blowing experiences and as a result – The Gant now offers two experiences to guests noted below. Guests can make arrangements through the concierge, and this is a year-round offering. The Gant often encourages guests after glassblowing – to head across the street to Marble Distillery for a local Carbondale-based cocktail.
Private Glassblowing Experiences
Journey down the Roaring Fork Valley to Carbondale, Colorado to try your hand at the unique craft of glassblowing. The team at Spiro Lyon Glass has been blowing glass for over 25 years and their combined skills realize master craftsmanship results. Choose between a “Firestarter Workshop” where, over the course of three hours, you learn about the ancient art of glassblowing and have an opportunity to blow glass for yourself – or – if you prefer a one-one-one learning environment, private glassblowing experiences can also be arranged.
