Give Back in Patagonia: Win a Volunteering Adventure with “10 Volunteers for 10 Days”

Imagine trekking through the dramatic peaks, glittering glaciers, and wild valleys of Torres del Paine National Park— and knowing your footsteps are helping protect this breathtaking landscape for future generations. That’s the heart of the 10 Volunteers for 10 Days initiative, a unique opportunity that blends adventure, conservation, and travel with purpose.

What It Is

10 Volunteers for 10 Days is a social contest hosted by Las Torres Patagonia, in partnership with SKY Airline, offering ten passionate travelers the chance to win an all-expenses-paid voluntourism trip to Chilean Patagonia. Winners will spend five days restoring sections of the iconic Base Torres trail — the most famous and most visited hiking route in Torres del Paine National Park, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.

This isn’t typical tourism — it’s hands-on work that directly contributes to sustainable trail restoration, protects the park’s fragile ecosystem, and improves access for hikers from around the world.

Why It Matters

Torres del Paine’s Base Torres trail sees heavy foot traffic each year, which causes erosion and environmental stress if not carefully managed. The 10 Volunteers for 10 Days project supports a multi-phase effort to rebuild and maintain this trail with sustainability at its core. By reshaping paths with gentle grades and eco-sensitive design, volunteers ensure the trail endures — while minimizing impact on local wildlife and plant life.

For travelers, this is a rare chance to experience Patagonia’s jaw-dropping scenery — like towering granite spires, glacial lakes, and windswept steppe — from the inside out, balancing meaningful contribution with adventure and exploration.

How to Enter

To participate, applicants must:

  1. Create a short video (up to 45 seconds) explaining what responsible travel and sustainability mean to you.
  2. Post it on Instagram and follow the entry guidelines:
    • Use the hashtag #mygreenvideo
    • Tag @lastorres.patagonia and @skyairline
    • Make sure your account is public
  3. Submit before midnight (PST) on February 20, 2026

A panel of judges will select ten winners. Five volunteers will join the first travel group (March 22–27) and five will join the second (March 28–April 2), with airfare, lodging, meals, and guided excursions included.

What You’ll Experience

Winners will arrive in Patagonia via Puerto Natales Airport, and begin their journey at Hotel Las Torres, a comfortable, all-inclusive eco-lodge near the park’s entrance. From there, the itinerary includes both meaningful trail work and immersive activities such as:

  • Restoring and maintaining the Base Torres trail
  • Guided hiking and nature exploration through Torres del Paine
  • Sunset views over glacial lakes and soaring granite peaks
  • Cultural insights into Patagonia’s unique landscape and conservation efforts

Every moment supports a deeper connection to the land — and a legacy of preservation that benefits both people and planet.

Who Can Enter

To participate, entrants must be:

  • At least 21 years old
  • Residents of the U.S., Canada, UK, Brazil or Chile
  • Physically prepared to participate in outdoor, hands-on trail work

Why Every Traveler Should Consider It

This initiative blends the best of meaningful travel and adventure tourism. Rather than simply witnessing Patagonia’s natural beauty, volunteers actively support its future — learning firsthand about sustainable tourism, trail building, and environmental stewardship along the way. It’s a transformative experience that turns a passion for travel into long-lasting impact.
