June is the new black when it comes to healthy living, with Global Wellness Day celebrated worldwide on June 14 and International Yoga Day a week later on June 21.
Here is a quick rundown of hotels and resorts in Southeast Asia where guests are encouraged to don their leotards and sneakers for a variety of fitness-inspired fun.
Koh Samui at a Stretch
Renowned for its Wellbeing Sanctuary where visitors can tailor a health and fitness program to blend in with their Thai vacation, the luxury resort of Banyan Tree Samui hosts a variety of seaside activities including paddle boarding, snorkelling, kayaking and sailing. On the morning of June 14, guests will be invited to take part in a Tai Chi class to help improve balance and flexibility, while on June 21 the focus will be on strength and posture with a one-hour yoga class for all levels.
Five Days of Wellness and Balance on Vietnam’s Cam Ranh Peninsula
To celebrate International Yoga Day, Alma Resort Cam Ranh is offering discounted private yoga with resident yogi Umesh as well as a limited edition yoga t-shirt with free yoga sessions. From June 17-21, a private one-hour session will be discounted 30%. The yoga t-shirt at the resort’s mini-supermarket Alma Mart, for VND 400,000, comes with two yoga sessions. Group classes are held at Alma’s Yoga Room from Tuesday to Sunday. Suited to all levels, the “Morning Hatha Yoga” class is underpinned by Traditional Hatha Yoga combining joint movements, sun salutations, and standing and sitting positions. Rooted in Ashtanga tradition, “Power Yoga” classes focus on core strength and flexibility. The “Evening Yoga Stretch” class is Hatha-based stretching targeting the hip joints, hamstrings, shoulders, neck, and back.
Body and Soul Care in Krabi
The award-winning spa team at the verdant resort of Banyan Tree Krabi in southern Thailand will kick off Global Wellness Day with a novel activity: Design from the Sea. This will allow guests to design jewelry or artistic pendants using naturally-sourced treasures from the sea. The day will continue with a venture into Walking Meditation, inspired by the Buddhist Vipassana practice. And to mark International Yoga Day, a “Yoga for All” session will be hosted on the beachfront lawn in the morning, followed by “Singing Bowl Meditation” in the late afternoon.
Finding Balance in Da Nang’s Sacred Mountains
Da Nang’s Marble Mountains, five karsts named for the five elements, is a sacred spot, peppered with pagodas and shrines, ancient statues and deep, lofty caves. TIA Wellness Resort’s Global Wellness Day activity, a Marble Mountain Climb and Tai Chi practice, allows guests to experience the popular tourist site like it should be, in a way that is peaceful and fosters presence, before the daily crowds arrive. After a 6am start at the resort guests will make their way to the nearby site by air-conditioned mini van, before a short climb up a time-worn stone staircase winding up the mountainside. After a calming and centering Tai Chi practice guests will explore several sacred sites with their wellness guide and hear local legends before returning refreshed and grounded—just in time for breakfast.

Wellness-inspired resort group Fusion will usher in a month of holistic well-being, mindfulness and joyful celebration in June across its signature properties in Vietnam and Thailand. The health and well-being journey at Fusion Resort & Villas Da Nang begins on June 14 with a celebration of Global Wellness Day. On June 21, the resort marks International Yoga Day with two immersive sessions. The day starts with outdoor yoga and meditation, including yoga and mindful stillness. Throughout the month, Fusion Resort & Villas Da Nang and other Fusion properties offer guests a balanced escape, honoring family ties, celebrating global wellness, and nurturing body and spirit.

The package includes a spa treatment and bath ritual set-up, in addition to revitalizing yoga sessions, daily afternoon tea, and much more. Azerai Ke Ga Bay is nestled amongst 4.5 hectares of verdant gardens, located a comfortable 2.5-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City on a new highway. Azerai La Residence, Hue, situated in the former imperial capital, is centered on a colonial mansion that was built in 1930 as part of the residence of the French Resident Superieur. Azerai was founded by legendary hotelier Adrian Zecha.
Practice Your Asanas to Panoramic Views in Pattaya
Meliá Pattaya Hotel, which debuted February 14 this year in vibrant Pattaya near Bangkok, will gently ease guests into both Global Wellness Day, on Saturday June 14, and International Yoga Day, on Saturday June 21 with a basic yoga class. Held from 7-8am for a maximum of five guests, the intimate class focuses on improving posture, flexibility and core strength. Suited to all fitness levels yet ideal for beginners, there is nothing basic about the spectacular class setting Yitong Sky Bar atop the 12-story hotel; participants soak up panoramic views of the Gulf of Thailand. The hotel will also stage a basic pilates the day before each basic yoga class.
Early morning Hatha Yoga By The Beach
The Anam Cam Ranh will mark International Yoga Day on Saturday June 21 with an outdoor yoga class on the resort’s vast emerald lawn by one of Vietnam’s most spectacular stretches of sand, Long Beach. To be held from 6-7am, the class will entail traditional “Hatha” yoga and “pranayama” breathing exercises. Hatha yoga is a traditional form of yoga that focuses on balancing the mind and body through physical postures, known as “asanas”, breath work, and meditation. The word “Hatha” is derived from Sanskrit, where “ha” means the sun and “tha” means the moon, symbolising the balance of opposing energies within the body.
