San Diego’s Best Rooftop Dining Options Offering Ocean Views

Summer is in full swing, so it’s prime time to sit rooftop, sip on a cocktail and take in the sunshine and ocean views! Here are some San Diego spots you will want to be sure to visit this summer.  

George’s at the Cove has been providing with multi-level oceanfront views and expertly crafted cuisine in the coastal town of La Jolla since 1984. The restaurant is situated on bluffs overlooking La Jolla Cove. Each of its three levels offers a different view of the ocean. The Lower Level is a private event space that also is used for holiday brunches and other special events. Level2 is a cocktail-driven space with an open-air view of the Cove. The rooftop Ocean Terrace is where you get the ultimate experience that Georges is known for.

Quiero Restaurants and its Seaport Village location offers a very different but equally great way to enjoy a nice rooftop dining experience. Located just across from Coronado Island, the Mexican restaurant offers a wide selection of traditional and not-so-traditional tacos along with other delicious entrees and sharables. You can sit on the bottom floor which is a covered open area with sweeping views of the bay and Coronado, or you can go to the top floor. There you will find covered and uncovered seating that offers a truly unobstructed view of the harbor. Order a few tacos and get yourself a beer from that attached brewery and you will be sure to have a marvelous dining experience.  

Sandbar Sportsbar & Grill is a casual, laid-back dining and drinking spot, providing locals and visitors a sought-after beachfront experience. The sports bar is located in Mission Beach, just across the way from Belmont Park, and offers award-winning tacos, burgers, sandwiches, and all manner of fun shareable bar fair, along with an array of refreshing drinks. Sandbar’s SkyDeck second floor allows guests the unique opportunity to enjoy a Sandbar Bacon Cheeseburger, sip on a House Michelada, catch all the action of the game playing on TV, and turn another direction to take in the beach and sunset.  

Cococabana takes us to North County with its Downtown Oceanside location atop The Brick Hotel. The Caribbean-style cocktail bar is known for its lively libations, small bites, and delicious brunches. It also features sweeping views of Oceanside and the ocean. Sip on your Havana Good Time withvodka, cucumber lemon cordial, pamplemousse, guava mint kombucha and snack on your Fresch Catch Ceviche while basking in the San Diego sun.
