Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is ready to welcome the Year of the Snake with exclusive Tet celebrations, including the hotel’s popular annual Tet market along with a special culinary program.
The Metropole Tet Market, a hallmark event in Hanoi for nearly 25 years, returns on Jan. 8-9, offering a journey into the charm and nostalgia of old Hanoi. Visitors can experience Vietnamese culture in a festive atmosphere, with vendors offering premium Tet products and unique handicrafts, in addition to delicious Tet specialties and traditional foods.
Other unique experiences include traditional To He figurines made of rice powder, custom calligraphy for good luck, and special workshops. Guests can learn the art of making quintessential Tet delicacies like chung cake, arranging fruit trays or exploring artisanal teas.
The Metropole Tet Market kicks off on Jan. 8 at 12 p.m. with a lively lion dance performance.
Exclusive dining, drinking and special gifts are also on offer throughout January at Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. The hotel will operate as usual during the Tet holidays, including on the busiest days of Tet (Jan. 28-31).
Spice Garden, the hotel’s authentic Vietnamese restaurant, will usher in an auspicious Lunar New Year with a 5-course set menu featuring traditional delicacies such as spring rolls, chung cake, steamed prawns in coconut, bamboo shoot vermicelli soup and more. The menu will be served from Jan. 20 to Feb. 7 and priced at VND 1,600,000++ per person.
Spice Garden has also unveiled a cocktail menu highlighting local flavors. These bright and refreshing tipples pay homage to the botanicals and memories that shape Vietnamese people’s roots. The drinks are priced at VND 260,000++ per glass and will be served through Jan. 31.
angelina, Metropole Hanoi’s chic cocktail bar, whisky lounge and restaurant, has introduced a special Tet cocktail menu that brings together the essence of the Lunar New Year with inspirations from Vietnam’s timeless folklore. These cocktails will be served from Jan. 12 to Feb. 12 and priced at VND 350,000++ per glass.
Metropole Hanoi also celebrates the reopening of La Boutique, the hotel’s luxury gift shop showcasing a curated selection of exquisitely crafted lacquerware, premium keepsakes and high-quality Metropole branded items. The reopening unveils not only a refreshed look but also an enchanting addition: a vibrant flower corner where elegant bouquets are on offer.
Finally, L’Epicerie du Metropole will present its bespoke Metropole Tet Hampers, thoughtfully curated with imported premium products and authentic Vietnamese treats – an ideal gift for friends, family and valued business partners.
Tet is the most important holiday in the Vietnamese calendar, marking the arrival of spring and new beginnings. During the seven-day celebration locals practice an array of customs including cooking traditional foods, cleaning out their homes, donning new clothes, visiting relatives, and giving li xi or lucky money to children.
