Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa is already known as one of the Caribbean’s most family-friendly luxury getaways — but with the launch of its new SPLASH at Seafire in June, the Grand Cayman resort is taking things to another level. With play areas designed for children of all ages and abilities, SPLASH offers self-directed discovery in an imagination-sparking aquatic environment complemented by the Cayman Islands’ native flora and fauna.
“SPLASH is a major addition to Seafire’s already robust selection of kid-friendly amenities,” said Steven Andre, Kimpton Seafire’s General Manager. “The new waterpark is designed to give our young guests a fun, fully interactive experience that they’ll never forget.”
Many of SPLASH at Seafire’s unique water features are educational, as well as entertaining. Children will learn about cause and effect in cascading basins as they direct the flow and create an infinite variety of water paths. Leaf patterns are imprinted onto toddler-sized concrete seating, inviting children to touch “fossilized” representations and match the patterns with the corresponding tree. Meanwhile, SPLASH’s Dance Chimes let kids connect movement with sound on a grid of nine musical tiles integrated into the landscape. Hopping and dancing will produce tones as bright as their smiles. Kids can even manipulate a big boulder with a gentle tap at the Spinning Rock, a chunk of the dolomitic limestone that forms the island of Grand Cayman.
Additionally, SPLASH features an array of local flora, including Silver Thatch, Mango, Wild Sapodilla, Parrot Berry Bush, West Indian Mahogany, Bull Thatch, Royal Palm as well as Sea Grape (also known as Coccoloba), one of the most popular trees located on property.
SPLASH is only one of the many family-friendly experiences offered at Seafire. Camp Seafire is a kids-only zone – providing amazing moments that will become memories for a lifetime. The supervised camp provides thoughtfully, well-planned programs for ages 5-12, with creative new themes and games offered daily. The Seafire Pool is also kid-friendly and surrounded by lush local greenery, comfy lounge chairs and private cabanas. Finally, the resort’s Family Suite features a separate bedroom for the parents, two bathrooms and a separate living area with bunk beds.
