Tbilisi’s Telegraph Hotel Opens Rolling Stone’s First Rooftop Bar

On 15 September, 2025, the Telegraph Hotel in Tbilisi, Georgia made its mark on classic rock history by opening Rolling Stone’s first rooftop bar. The iconic rock brand boasts 50 years of history and up to 60 million global readers, who can now drink and dance into the early hours on the roof of this equally iconic landmark hotel. Live music, a bespoke cocktail list, and impressive views across the skyline of Europe’s coolest capital city await.

The Telegraph has been open for just three months, since June 2025, after a transformative renovation of the city’s Brutalist telegraph and post office building by the international studio Neri&Hu. This month’s striking additions to the property include not only the Rolling Stone bar but also the Tatuza Jazz Club, honouring the legacy of the legendary Georgian jazz musician Tamaz Khurashvili; and the terrace restaurant Philosofico, a delightful discovery for lovers of Italian cuisine, led by Executive Chef Paolo Amadori. These expanded food and beverage offerings complement Chef Rose Chalalai Singh’s Laan Thai restaurant, elegant Grand Café, and the Wine Library, where you can taste many of Georgia’s 8,000 vintages.

“The Telegraph has quickly become one of the city’s main attractions and a cherished meeting place. The Tatuza Jazz Club was inaugurated with a historic concert featuring Stanley Clarke, Beka Gochiashvili, and Dennis Chambers. Until now, Tbilisi has not had a jazz club of this caliber. From now on, we will be hosting live concerts and inviting all jazz enthusiasts to enjoy them. On the top floor, we opened a bar under the legendary American brand Rolling Stone, launched with a phenomenal concert by Nik West. We are confident this will become one of Tbilisi’s most outstanding music venues. The Telegraph Hotel is part of a broader development strategy for the Republic Square, as envisioned by our group. I would like to thank all our partners and team members who turned this ambitious idea into reality.” – George Ramishvili, Founder at Silk Road Group

The architectural concept for the reconstruction of the Telegraph building was developed by renowned architects Lyndon Neri and Rosana Hu, founders of Neri&Hu. They realized Silk Road Group’s vision by transforming the historic building into a modern, multifunctional urban space that gains new significance within the city’s cultural and social landscape.

“When Silk Development approached us regarding the Telegraph Hotel project, we were immediately intrigued by the opportunity. From the outset, we recognized the site’s historical significance and hidden potential. The Telegraph building occupies a unique place in Tbilisi’s collective memory – not only as a landmark, but also as a space of communication, connection, and exchange. It is also worth noting that the vision of Silk Road Group’s founder, Mr. George Ramishvili, was fully aligned with our approach from the very beginning. Both parties clearly understood that the building must preserve its historic value while also being adapted to a new era. Mr. Ramishvili is a remarkably farsighted leader, and collaborating with him was an exceptionally rewarding and inspiring experience.” – Lyndon Neri, Neri&Hu

With its unique design, varied cultural programming, and exceptional hospitality, The Telegraph sets a new hospitality standard in Tbilisi. Silk Development led the reconstruction of the Telegraph building, while hotel operations are managed by Silk Hospitality.

The 5-star Hotel Telegraph offers 239 rooms of various categories, along with a range of entertainment and workspace areas. As a member of the prestigious international collection, The Leading Hotels of the World, Hotel Telegraph is a significant project by Silk Road Group and is part of the unified development concept for the Republic Square. The holding invested €65 million in the renovation of the Telegraph building.
