Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos, the adults-only luxury all-inclusive resort on the tip of the Baja Peninsula, has unveiled a new collection of Signature Experiences designed to connect guests with the rich cultural heritage, culinary traditions, and natural beauty of the region. From Indigenous healing ceremonies to agave spirit tastings and hands-on cooking workshops, the lineup offers a deeper, more meaningful way to experience Mexico.
Art, Wine, and the Spirit of Baja
One of the standout new offerings is an Art and Wine Experience, where guests are guided by a local San José del Cabo artist to paint iconic Baja scenes — including the famous El Arco and the dramatic desert-meets-sea landscape — while a sommelier leads tastings of boutique wines from Valle de Guadalupe. It’s a fitting pairing: the Valle has quietly emerged as one of the world’s most exciting wine regions, and the resort leans into that story with a dedicated Mexican Wine and Cheese Pairing as well, featuring artisanal cheeses that reflect generations of Baja ranching tradition.
For spirits enthusiasts, a Mexican Spirits & Agave Tasting and a Tequila Journey take guests through the world of Tequila, Mezcal, Sotol, and Raicilla, exploring the Indigenous communities and family-owned distilleries that have preserved these ancestral methods for centuries.
From Cacao to Ceviche
The culinary experiences extend well beyond drinks. An Artisanal Chocolate Tasting traces cacao’s roots to ancient Mesoamerican civilizations, while the Ceviche & Sauvignon Blanc Experience celebrates Baja’s celebrated seafood culture with fresh, locally sourced preparations. The Oysters and Bubbles Experience showcases sustainably harvested oysters from local Baja farms — some of Mexico’s most prized — alongside sparkling wine.
Hands-on cooking workshops round out the culinary programming. A Salsa Mexican Cooking Class has guests grinding native chiles, tomatoes, and herbs using traditional volcanic stone molcajetes, while the Mole Mexican Cooking Class dives into one of Mexico’s most iconic and complex dishes, exploring its blend of Indigenous and colonial influences before guests sit down to enjoy what they’ve made with fresh tortillas and traditional sides.
Wellness Rooted in the Desert
The new collection also honors Baja California Sur’s deep connection to the land through a pair of wellness experiences. The Baja Tea Ceremony centers on Damiana and other native botanicals, exploring their medicinal and spiritual significance to Indigenous communities while encouraging guests to slow down and reconnect. The Before Bed Dry Spa Experience, meanwhile, is a restorative evening ritual guiding guests through infrared therapy and relaxation lounges, paired with calming snacks and beverages designed to ease the body into deep, restful sleep.
All Included, All Immersive
All Signature Experiences are included in the resort’s all-inclusive rate and will appear on the weekly activities schedule, with advance signup required for select offerings. Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos, which opened in January 2024 and holds a AAA Five Diamond rating, features 79 suites, a MICHELIN consulting chef, an SE Spa emphasizing sound therapy, and access to the five gourmet restaurants at sister property Grand Velas Los Cabos at no additional charge.
