Rosemead House has been named to Travel + Leisure’s 100 Best New Hotels of the Year, a globally recognized list celebrating the most compelling hotel openings and transformations worldwide. Selected from nearly 250 properties across 40 countries, Rosemead House stands among just three Canadian hotels to earn a place on the 2026 list.
Since opening in late 2025, Rosemead House has quickly established itself as one of British Columbia’s most distinctive hospitality experiences, defined as much by its highly personalized service and thoughtful guest experience as by its design. Set within a restored 118-year-old manor just minutes from downtown Victoria, the property offers a layered, immersive approach where each stay is intentionally curated and a deeply engaged team delivers care that is precise, personal, and attuned to each guest.

At the core of the property is a deeply personal vision from owner Lenny Moy, whose passion for design and history shaped the hotel’s identity. Drawing from visits to more than 200 estate auctions across the United Kingdom, Moy curated a collection of over 1,500 antiques, integrating them into a reimagined interior that feels both cinematic and lived-in.
“Rosemead House was never intended to follow convention,” says Moy. “It’s a place where history, craftsmanship, and imagination intersect. Every room tells a story, and that sense of discovery is what we wanted guests to experience from the moment they arrive.”
Each of the hotel’s guest rooms is individually designed, featuring Edwardian writing desks, original architectural details, and layered textiles including William Morris wallpapers, alongside contemporary comforts such as heated floors and Duxiana mattresses. The result is a property that feels closer to a private residence or collector’s estate than a traditional hotel.
The recognition from Travel + Leisure reflects a broader shift in luxury travel toward properties that offer depth, narrative, and a strong sense of place. The publication’s editors and reporters evaluated hotels that opened or underwent significant renovations between February 2025 and February 2026, selecting those that deliver meaningful and memorable guest experiences.

“Being recognized by Travel + Leisure is an honour for our entire team,” says Uwe Walter, General Manager of Rosemead House. “We see ourselves as custodians of the property, but it is our team who brings it to life each day. Through attentive, highly personalized service, we create experiences that feel elevated without ever feeling overstated. That level of care is what defines a stay here.”
Dining at Rosemead House is anchored by Janevca Kitchen & Lounge, where wood-fired techniques and globally influenced flavours meet thoughtfully sourced ingredients. The Salt & Ivy Spa further enhances the experience, offering treatments rooted in both innovation and local elements, alongside a two-level fitness space. Phase Two, including a full hydrotherapy circuit, is set to debut in Winter 2025.
Located in a quiet residential enclave near the Salish Sea, the hotel offers immediate access to coastal walking trails and maritime landscapes, reinforcing its sense of retreat while remaining closely connected to Victoria’s cultural energy.
