TREK TO SEE CHRIST THE REDEEMER, BRAZIL

On this culture-packed trip, adventurers will experience both the rhythms of Rio and the atmospheric Amazon. Guided by an expert tour leader, a hike through the Tijuca National Park leads through the forest, unlocking key sites including the Taunay Waterfall, Job de Alcântara Bridge and Mayrink Chapel, before reaching the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue and enjoying panoramic views of Rio.

The tour also offers a visit to the majestic Iguaçu Falls and the opportunity to explore the jungle-backed town of Paraty. It ends in the Amazon with an immersive stay in a local community nestled within the Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve. The visit provides an authentic insight into the lives of the riverside communities who live here, including the Tumbira and Santa Helena do Inglês people, whose livelihoods depend on fishing and tourism, and who the group meet during their stay.

WALKING THE GREAT WALL, CHINA

The lesser-trodden section of the Great Wall of China in Huanghuacheng offers a great sense of the scale and majesty of this remarkable piece of engineering, without being surrounded by crowds. The trek passes contrasting sections of the wall, with both dilapidated and rebuilt stretches and is situated in an incredibly picturesque location by a lake. The name Huanhuacheng translates as ‘Yellow Flower City’, as during summer the surrounding mountains are swathed in yellow as the local wildflowers come into bloom. The tour also includes visits the Jinshanling Great Wall section and Gubeikou section before exploring hutongs, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City.

TOUR MACHU PICCHU, PERU

On this tour, there is the opportunity to visit the Sacred Valley – the true heartland of Incan culture and tradition – including stops in Pisac and Ollantaytambo, as well as time to explore the Imperial City of the Incas, Cuzco. This trip is designed to maximise the time spent at Machu Picchu, one of the seven wonders, with an early morning tour of the ruins, quieter at that hour before the crowds of day trippers and other trekkers arrive.

CYCLE THROUGH PETRA, JORDAN

The Kingdom of Jordan is the perfect place to combine a cycling tour with some of the best sites in the Middle East. This cycling tour takes a trip back in time to when Romans roamed and Nabateans built one of the most unusual cities in the world, Petra. The route passes olive groves and hilltop villages in the north, before reaching the UNESCO-recognised Petra, to explore the site from all angles. Walking down the narrow Siq, through a sandstone chasm, El Khazneh (the Treasury) is revealed, before passing the houses and tombs of the rich citizens, the amphitheatre, the higher caves and the High Place of Sacrifice for a fantastic panorama of the whole site.

ADVENTURE TO CHICHÉN ITZÁ, MEXICO

On this 14-night trip, travellers will discover Mexico’s lost civilisations, Spanish colonial heritage, natural beauty and a rich culture. Highlights include exploring Chichén Itzá, home to one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, which served as the political and economic centre of the Maya civilisation and thrived from around 600 CE to 1200 CE. The pyramid of Kukulkan, the Temple of Chac Mool, the Hall of the Thousand Pillars and the Playing Field of the Prisoners can still be seen today and demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to architecture, space and composition. The pyramid itself was the last, and possibly greatest, of all Maya pyramids.

The tour also includes a visit to the magnificent historic centre of Mexico City, an immersive cookery course in Oaxaca, a relaxing ride on the canals of Xochimilco, and journey to the jungles and beaches of the Yucatan.

ROAM AROUND THE COLOSSEUM, ITALY

Starting in the Eternal City after a hearty breakfast, travellers will be met by a certified guide for a tour of Rome’s most spectacular landmarks, including the largest ancient amphitheatre ever built, the Colosseum, before seeing the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and more. There is free time for lunch before a private transfer away from the city buzz to Abbazia Collemedio – a peaceful resort in the Umbrian countryside. From here, guests will explore the Green Heart of Italy, an area surprisingly undiscovered by the tourist masses. In-between gentle walks through the countryside and medieval villages, there will be visits to Assisi and Perugia to sample fine wines and craft beers, enjoy a hands-on Italian cooking class and relax in the resort spa.

MARVEL AT THE TAJ MAHAL, INDIA

On this trip, travellers will take an early visit to the Taj Mahal at sunrise to enjoy the serenely beautiful building in all its glory. The white marble exterior changes colour according to the position of the sun and is matched by the rich interior detail. Within striking distance is the imposing Red Fort of Akbar, with mighty sandstone walls that enclose the beautiful white marble Pearl Mosque and the palaces, halls, courtyards and fountains of Emperor Akbar’s sons and successors: Jehangir and Shah Jahan.

The tour will also visit the ‘Pink City’ of Jaipur, home to Maharaja’s Palace and the hilltop Amber Fort and offer an early morning boat ride along the ghats of Varanasi in search of Tigers.
