Viva Resorts by Wyndham is proud to announce it will sponsor and host the first-ever Oceanman Dominican Republic, taking place at Viva Dominicus Beach and Palace, Bayahibe, from October 10–12, 2025. Part of the world’s premier open-water swimming series, the event will welcome amateur and professional swimmers from around the globe to compete in one of the Caribbean’s most spectacular coastal destinations.
This marks the debut edition of Oceanman in the Dominican Republic, further positioning Viva Resorts by Wyndham as a leading supporter of wellness, outdoor sports, and immersive travel experiences. Participants and spectators will enjoy the convenience of staying directly at the host resort, with all-inclusive amenities that make the experience seamless both in and out of the water.
“When the opportunity to host Oceanman was presented to us, we were immediately drawn to it,” said Erika Sordo, Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, Viva Resorts by Wyndham. “Bringing the event to Viva Dominicus Beach & Palace perfectly aligns with our passion for sports, our stunning natural setting, and our commitment to supporting events that boost local tourism and community engagement. It’s a fantastic way to unite international athletes while showcasing the beauty of the iconic Bayahibe destination in the Dominican Republic.”

Oceanman Dominican Republic will feature multiple race categories and distances, designed for swimmers of all levels—from youth and first-time open-water enthusiasts to seasoned professionals. With pristine sea conditions, ideal weather, and a vibrant atmosphere, Bayahibe offers an unmatched natural setting for athletes and their families to enjoy both the competition and the destination.
While event packages for participants are already sold out due to high demand, the event underscores Viva’s vision of wellness-driven, active, and experience-rich travel. Guests traveling with athletes will have full access to Viva’s all-inclusive offerings, including accommodations, dining, entertainment, sports, and recreational activities, along with the excitement of being part of an international sporting event on-site.
