Set in Austria’s sought-after Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis region, Schlosshotel Fiss has earned a strong reputation as a five-star, family-focused retreat where alpine adventure meets laid-back luxury throughout the year.
In summer, the property becomes a basecamp for families eager to explore Tyrol’s mountains. Guests can spend their days hiking scenic trails, cycling through high-altitude routes, and making full use of the Super Summer Card, which unlocks seamless access to the region’s extensive lift network. Thoughtful touches—such as complimentary strollers for younger children and guided hikes—make it easy for all ages to take part. Evenings bring a cultural rhythm to the mountains, with events like weekly live music performances at the Kulturhaus in Fiss.
Looking ahead, the hotel is continuing to evolve, with notable enhancements planned for both winter 2026 and summer 2027.
For the upcoming winter season, improvements will focus on elevating the ski experience. A new on-site sports shop will offer ski and snowboard rentals, alongside a modern ski depot equipped with advanced storage systems designed to keep gear warm, dry, and secure. Guests will also benefit from a new slope-side entrance, complete with two ski-in, ski-out lifts for direct and efficient access to the mountain.

The vision expands even further into summer 2027 with the introduction of the PeaX Adventure Zone, an ambitious new addition designed specifically for older children and teens. Spanning approximately 2,300 square metres, the space will blend architecture, storytelling, and movement into a dynamic indoor-outdoor environment. Designed for year-round use, it will feature climbing structures, suspended nets, rope courses, slides, fitness trails, and interactive zones for both guided activities and independent exploration. Additional highlights include a creative kitchen, a ValoJump area, and a dedicated track for ride-on vehicles, ensuring a variety of experiences tailored to different ages and interests.
The project reflects a clear understanding of how children’s interests evolve over time. Owner and managing director Simone Domenig emphasizes the importance of creating a space that feels exciting and unexpected, where young guests can challenge themselves, discover new skills, and stay engaged well beyond a single visit.
Architectural firm Noa is behind the design, drawing inspiration from alpine landscapes. The structure will incorporate crystal-like forms, dramatic light features, and a central sculptural element that acts as both focal point and guide. Inside, traditional boundaries between floors, walls, and ceilings are softened, creating a fluid, immersive environment reminiscent of a mountain cave. Materials such as glass, steel, wood, and stone will work together to blur the lines between interior and exterior spaces, while patios and angular rooflines will bring natural light deep into the building.

Complementing these new youth-focused spaces, the hotel will also introduce a Kid’s Academy—an interactive programme designed to engage children through food and creativity. Cooking and baking sessions will encourage families to participate together, while a dedicated atelier will provide space for hands-on activities like painting and working with clay.
With these forward-looking developments, Schlosshotel Fiss continues to refine its family-first philosophy, creating an environment where every visit offers something new. For returning guests, it’s not just a place to stay—it’s a destination that grows alongside them, delivering fresh experiences with each trip.
