What’s New in Kissimmee for Summer 2018

With longer days and breezy nights, summer in Kissimmee means more sunshine, more fun, and more memories to last a lifetime. This summer there’ll be even more to experience with the opening of new rides at Florida’s world famous theme parks, including the highly anticipated Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the world’s first virtual reality roller coaster experience designed for a kid at LEGOLAND, along with new hotels and summer festivals.

Here’s a look at some of the top all-new attractions, exciting experiences, and colourful sights to look forward to in Kissimmee this summer:

All-New Attractions

  • Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Opens June 20

Shrink down to toy-size and travel into Andy’s backyard for adventures with the Toy Story characters with two all new attractions— Slinky Dog Dash, a new coaster inspired by the classic toy, and Alien Swirling Saucers, a galactic adventure led by the film’s famous little green aliens.

  • UP! A Great Bird Adventure  at Disney’s Animal Kingdom:  Debuts April 22

Celebrate Disney’s Animal Kingdom’s 20th anniversary with Russell and Dug from Disney·Pixar’s ‘UP’ during UP! A Great Bird Adventure, a new show featuring up-close encounters with bird species from around the world.

  • Fast & Furious – Supercharged  ride at Universal Studios Florida: Opens June 25

Join the “Fast family” on a thrilling journey that puts you right in the middle of a new story. Fast & Furious – Supercharged is also the next attraction at Universal

Studios Florida to feature the new Virtual Line system. Guests will be able to select a

time to ride Fast & Furious – Supercharged via the Official Universal Orlando Resort Mobile App or at kiosks located near the attraction entrance.

  • Infinity Falls at SeaWorld Orlando

Clocking in as the world’s tallest river rapid drop and inspired by the lush rainforests of South America, this thrilling ride will plunge guests into a flowing river, 40 feet below, opening 2018.

  • The Great LEGO Race at LEGOLAND Florida Resort: Now Open

The first virtual reality roller coaster experience designed for a kid, this ride takes you through an imaginary world made entirely of LEGO bricks.

  • Full Moon Kayak Tour at the Paddling Center at Shingle Creek: Now Open

Glide through dark lagoons as the full moon and bright stars light the night during this eco-adventures.

Special Events

  • Gator Week with Wild Florida Airboats and Gator Park: Happening May 7 – 12

Wild Florida Airboats and Gator Park wants to share its knowledge and passion for gators during Gator Week. On top of free admission to its Gator and Wildlife Park all week, each day Wild Florida will hold special events including the Taste of Gator Cook-Off and Wild Paint Night Out, where guests get to paint Wild Florida’s albino alligators.

  • Celebrate the 4th of July in Kissimmee:

Have a Monumental 4th of July at Kissimmee Lakefront Park during the park’s annual celebration featuring live concerts, activities, food trucks, and a fireworks display to close out the night.

Celebrate America’s independence at LEGOLAND Florida Resort with the park’s biggest fireworks show of the year above Lake Eloise. Guest can also help create a giant USA flag out of thousands of LEGO bricks.
