Taking place from 19 December 2024 to 11 January 2025 and held within the stunning surroundings of AlUla, this iconic three-week festival celebrates the rich cultural heritage, creative spirit, and natural beauty of the region.
Set against the backdrop of AlUla’s jaw-dropping landscapes, Winter at Tantora invites visitors to experience this extraordinary region as never before. With a human history tracing back to ancient civilisations, AlUla has long been a cultural crossroads and a sanctuary for travellers. This year’s festival draws inspiration from the region’s historic past while highlighting Saudi Arabia’s thriving culture and modern entertainment.
A variety of experiences and events are on offer to encapsulate the magic of Winter at Tantora. Step into expansive outdoor sets, where AlUla’s history and legends come to life in an Immersive Theatre Experience. Become part of the story as interactive audio-visual projections transport you to another world, blurring the lines between spectator and participant.
Celebrate the Year of the Camel at Sanaam AlUla Night, where an enchanting concert experience combines camel-inspired culinary treats, traditional Saudi coffee, and dates with a mesmerising camel show and parade for an unforgettable cultural experience. Attendees will be treated to two captivating musical performances as acclaimed Tunisian singer Oumaima Taleb and celebrated Saudi artist Abdulaziz ElMuanna take to the stage.
The Tantora Old Town Celebration will transform AlUla’s Old Town into a vibrant living museum, offering a range of crafts, masterclasses, and storytelling. Families and visitors of all ages can engage with AlUla’s cultural traditions through interactive experiences, some free and some premium.
A series of Maraya Classical Concerts will be staged to dazzle the audience. The stunning Maraya venue, the world’s largest mirrored building, will host three exceptional classical music shows. Abeer Nehme and The National Arab Orchestra (27 December 2024) will be a classical music journey that showcases the rich Arab heritage with renowned vocalist Abeer Nehme. Macintosh Show (3 January 2025) promises a spectacular performance blending classical, electronic, and Eastern and Western sounds, featuring iconic Arab artists such as Saber Rebai, Zena Emad, Aziz Maraka and Daffy. Marwan Khoury and HAUSER (10 January 2025) is a collaboration between the acclaimed Lebanese singer Marwan Khoury and world-renowned Croatian cellist HAUSER.
Maraya will also be the place to be on New Year’s Eve as Egyptian superstar Amal Maher leads the celebrations on a memorable evening when the iconic multi-purpose entertainment venue of Maraya – The World’s Largest Mirrored Building – transforms into an open-air venue. Guests will indulge in a lavish buffet and experience specially curated entertainment to welcome 2025 in ultimate style.
Adventurous visitors will not want to miss In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta, a journey through AlUla’s Old Town and Oasis on a path inspired by the legendary explorer Ibn Battuta. Explore AlUla’s medieval world, which was once a thriving market town and sanctuary for pilgrims.
For those seeking something extra special, Winter at Tantora has several premium experiences including the Wedding Guest Experience. Take part in a one-of-a-kind, three-hour journey into the heart of Saudi wedding traditions. As an honoured “wedding guest”, immerse yourself in the rituals, music, cuisine, and hospitality that define this cultural experience. There is also the Heritage Craft Market, where visitors can learn traditional skills like palm weaving, ceramics, and Saudi coffee making. Ducasse in AlUla sees world famous French chef Alain Ducasse bring his Michelin-starred expertise to AlUla’s Oasis, offering a menu inspired by French cuisine and the region’s local ingredients. SASS’ AlUla replicates its glamorous Monaco location, providing Mediterranean and South American fine dining to AlUla, complemented by live open-fire cooking and DJ sets.
