Under an atrium-like structure, guests gather to unwind around the striking six-sided fireplace that was built as the centerpiece of the lobby and hotel in 1930. Weighing 80 tons and stretching 66-feet-high, the fireplace burns roughly 80 cords of wood yearly to keep the fire up during the cooler months.
