137 Pillars House Palette Restaurant Celebrates MICHELIN Guide Recognition

137 Pillars House is an award-winning 30 suite boutique Hotel with a rich colonial past; built around the original colonial teak homestead which dates back to the early 1800’s.  Located in a leafy residential enclave it is a few minutes’ walk from the historical Watt Gate Temple, Ping River and boutique shopping area.  The hotel is a member of the prestigious Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH).

In late 2019, the Tourism Authority of Thailand partnered with the MICHELIN Guide to showcase the best of the kingdom’s culinary offerings which range from casual street food to fine dining creations by local and foreign celebrity chefs.

The highly respected MICHELIN Guides are known globally for their discerning taste and commitment to their founding mission to foster a culture of travel and dining.  Criteria for the highly coveted rating include quality of products, mastery of flavor and cooking techniques, the personality of the chef represented in the dining experience, value for money and consistency between inspector’s visits.

137 Pillars House Palette Restaurant was honoured to be selected for inclusion in the top 50  in Chiang Mai to be recommended in the Guide and has launched an elegant 6 course tasting menu to celebrate the recognition and showcase its culinary offerings for diners, created and prepared under the direction of Executive Chef  K. Mam and her culinary team.

The Hotel’s two restaurants and the colonial Jack Bain’s Bar have become very popular with visitors to Chiang as well as local residents and expats.  The Concierge can arrange for pick up and drop off to and from the hotel for visitors wanting to enjoy the culinary offerings at 137 Pillars House.  The MICHELIN Plate Tasting Menu is available in Palette daily for lunch (from 12 noon-2.30 pm) and dinner (6.00-9.30 pm)

Palette’s MICHELIN Plate 6 course tasting menu is priced at Baht 1,370 (approx USD 45) per person net (see below) and can be enjoyed with diner’s personal choice of an extensive range of wines from the hotel’s cellar (not included in menu price).
