Blanketed by warm hues of orange, red and green, Courmayeur Mont Blanc shows off its seasonal beauty as Autumn draws in and offers a wealth of activities and events for all to enjoy, both indoors and outdoors.
The events schedule for October is as follows:
8th October – Runners from 11 nations are expected at the annual ‘Arrancabirra’ – an 18km running route with participants drinking beer and dressing up, this year with a Jurassic theme
18th October – Organized by the ABI Professional Valle d’Aosta, barmen will take to the Skyway Cocktail Competition and create cocktails in the stunning setting of Skyway Mont Blanc. The final will take place on the panoramic terrace, at an altitude of 3,466
29th October – Closing the month of October, the Courmayeur Food Market will head to Jardin de l’Ange which will entice guests by offering an outdoor market of local products and tastings. The next day, at the nearby Parco Bollino, the autumn chestnut festival will commence
When not sampling Courmayeur’s finest products or admiring cocktail creation, visitors can delight in autumn colors by heading out to the trails. The autumn months bring a turn in landscape and visitors can best enjoy this from the hiking trails with a local guide, or even rent a bike. The Adventure Park, set among pine trees 20 meters high, provides the ultimate nature thrill, whereas the Courmayeur et Grandes Jorasses Golf Club provides a slower-pace experience.
At the Auberge de la Maison, guests can treat themselves to a guided walk in Val Ferret, to discover the foliage, or learn how to make decorative garlands of leaves, berries and branches together with an expert in floral design. Those with an interest in sitting back and relaxing can visit the Cave Mont Blanc, which produces the highest white wines in Europe, such as sparkling wines with classic method, late harvests and even distillates. Tastings are available.
