Eleven, an award-winning international leader in providing off-the-grid lodging and exclusive guided outdoor adventures, will open the North American and European winter ski season with a pair of once-in-a-lifetime experiences in Iceland and France and a renovated lodge in Revelstoke.
Founded in 2011 and based in Crested Butte, Colo., Eleven is an experiential travel company with a diverse portfolio of properties in remarkable corners of the world. The company currently offers ski programs in Colorado, Iceland, France, Chile, and British Columbia, and is renowned for providing once-in-lifetime opportunities on some of the world’s best terrain, as well as an international collection of highly-trained ski guides committed to providing guests with the company’s signature “best-day-ever” experience.
The first destination in the Northern Hemisphere to open for winter adventures is Eleven Deplar Farm, Eleven’s acclaimed location on the Troll Peninsula in Iceland. The winter season at Eleven Deplar Farm runs Nov. 7 – Feb. 27, and guests can experience hiking, snowshoeing, fat biking, ice fishing, snow sledding, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, horseback riding, whale watching, sea kayaking, surfing, and stand up paddleboarding.
Eleven Deplar Farm also offers exclusive accommodations featuring a geothermally heated indoor/outdoor pool, a premium spa facility with three treatment rooms, and was honored on Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List as one of the “Best Hotels in the World.”
Eleven Deplar Farm will be the site for the company’s six-day Live Well Retreat from Jan. 25-31, where guests will experience their own transformation through activities like a ritualistic Viking sauna and cold plunge, a sound bath that fosters inner connection, and a biathlon ski excursion, among other activities.
In addition, Eleven Deplar Farm’s Heli-Ski season runs March 8 – June 5 and offers guests the opportunity to experience unique terrain from the mountain peaks down to the ocean under the midnight sun.
Eleven will also offer a new experience this winter at its destination in France, where the neighboring Eleven Chalet Pelerin and Eleven Chalet Hibou will be open for the winter season from Dec. 6 through April 21. Tucked high in the French Alps with access to seven nearby world-class ski resorts, the Chalet Pelerin and Chalet Hibou will also serve as the base camp for Eleven’s latest lift-assisted ski touring experience, where
guests can maximize their downhill vertical by using lifts and helicopter in addition to ski touring through some of the region’s most stunning alpine landscapes.
Ski touring routes are accessible from the area’s world-renowned ski resorts or straight from the chalet door, and Eleven offers small group sizes with a 1:4 guide-to-guest ratio. Each day’s itinerary is personalized, allowing for a tailored experience based on skill level and conditions, and guests return at the end of the day to the comfort of the chalets.
The first North American destination to open this winter is in Crested Butte, Colorado, where Eleven’s Scarp Ridge Lodge and Sopris House will welcome winter guests from Dec. 19 through April 3. Combining the charm of a small mountain town with the rare opportunity to enjoy a fully private cat skiing experience in one of the snowiest places in Colorado, Scarp Ridge Lodge and Sopris House offer more than 1,000 acres of terrain for skiers of all levels in Irwin, which draws more than 450 inches of snow per year.
The final Eleven destination to open this winter is Eleven Revelstoke Lodge in British Columbia, open from January 4 – March 31. When guests visit Revelstoke this season they’ll discover a complete renovation of the lodge that now includes 12 guest suites, including three new mezzanine-style “Captain Suites.” The building’s old,
character-filled boiler room will be converted into a private, modern bar serving cocktails for guests, and new wellness amenities include four treatment rooms, a cutting-edge sauna, a cold plunge, and a steam room as well as a state-of-the-art, fully equipped fitness center.
A new gear and locker room is also laid out with dedicated space for each party to store their gear for mountain adventures on 300,000 acres of heli-ski terrain across Canada’s Central Monashees, Pinnacles, and Valhalla Mountains, which averages more than 700 inches of snow annually.
“I’ve been fortunate to ski all over the planet, and each time I visit an Eleven destination, I’m blown away,” said Mike Hattrup, the Director of Skiing at Eleven. “The skiing is always incredible, but it’s all the things that surround the skiing that make the trip unforgettable. And that’s what Eleven does best; it brings you to a special corner of the planet, delivers exceptional skiing, immerses you in the local culture, and leaves you with an indelible memory.”
