Guests are invited to usher in a new year full of good fortune and prosperity in the most important holiday on the Vietnamese calendar, marking the arrival of spring and new beginnings. The two hotels have unveiled special Tet menus, festive programs and much more.
Azerai La Residence, Hue
Azerai La Residence, Hue captures the unique spirit of Tet with special menus, local excursions, stay packages and of course a vibrant Dragon Dance on Jan. 29, marking the beginning of the Year of the Wooden Snake, as lucky red envelopes (li xi) are handed out to guests.
The hotel’s exclusive Tet Package features a two-night stay in a Superior River View room, daily breakfast for two adults and one child under 12 years old (sharing existing bedding with parents), a Tet dinner menu and Tet afternoon tea for two people, and a one-way airport pick-up or drop-off service from Phu Bai Airport.
Azerai La Residence, Hue also introduces several elevated culinary offerings for the Tet holiday season, including a special Tet Buffet Breakfast, available from Jan. 19 to Feb. 16, as well as the Azerai La Residence, Hue Tet Menu served just four days, from Jan. 28-31, spotlighting the iconic tastes of the season. The hotel also offers a Tet Afternoon High Tea, Tet Unlabeled Tea Tasting and Tet Special Cocktail menu at Le Gouverneur Bar.
The hotel’s popular La Residence Foodfest on Jan. 15 kicks off the Tet season with delectable live cooking stations with Hue culinary favorites, plus a hot dish buffet, salad bar, dessert station and more.
Exclusive tours during Tet include a Half-Day Spring Tour that begins at Kim Dai Pagoda with morning chanting, Buddhist blessings and peaceful tea time with the head monk. Next stop is Khai Dinh Mausoleum, known for its unique fusion of Vietnamese and European architecture. Finally, the tour concludes with a visit to Hon Chen Temple, a place of worship for both Champa and Vietnamese deities.
The hotel has also introduced a special 3-hour Flower Market Tour in a hotel limousine that’s perfect for admiring natural beauty and snapping some memorable photographs.
The La Residence Tet Charity Corner, which operates from Jan. 15 to Feb. 28 in the hotel, offers souvenirs handmade by disabled artisans from the Hope Center Hue, a charitable foundation that provides vocational and work opportunities for disabled and disadvantaged people.
Azerai La Residence, Hue, with 122 rooms and suites, is centered on a colonial mansion that was built in 1930 as part of the residence of the French Resident Superieur. The mansion’s distinctive façade, including its long horizontal lines and nautical flourishes, are hallmarks of the streamline moderne school of art deco architecture.
Azerai Ke Ga Bay
The beachside Azerai Ke Ga Bay in southern Vietnam has unveiled five days of family friendly Tet activities starting on Jan. 28, with a morning beach volleyball game on the expansive white sand. Later, an exclusive Afternoon Tea will be served in the sophisticated surrounds of The Living Room. The special Vietnamese high tea will be offered daily throughout the Tet holiday. Children are also invited to make their own kites and fly them at the beach.
The next morning, on Jan. 29, guests are invited to a complimentary surfing class with experienced instructors, who will teach beginners and young adventurers (over 8 years old) how to ride the waves and embrace the thrill of the ocean in a safe and fun environment. A fun-filled kids’ activity will involve coloring the snake – as the Year of the Wooden Snake begins.
That evening, a special Traditional Tet Menu will be served, sparking nostalgia with flavors that hearken back to the cherished dishes of many Vietnamese childhoods. Standout dishes include Braised Dry Bamboo with Pork Belly and Duck Egg; Steamed Calamari with Ginger, Onion and Cellery; and Pan-Seared Half Sun-Dried Mackeral with Sweet and Sour Sauce; among several others. Booking is essential.
More fun will be on offer on Jan. 30, with a bodyboarding class and an exciting cooking class and lion dance practice for children.
The highlight of Jan. 31 will be a delectable BBQ dinner with live spring music and a captivating Siva dance performance. Bookings are essential. Earlier in the day, guests will have a chance to enjoy kayaking in the sea with an instructor and learn about the distinct charms and styles of Asian calligraphy. Young guests under 12 years old will also be invited to enjoy a complimentary Children’s Massage.
A lively lion dance brings the Tet festivities at Azerai Ke Ga Bay to a close on Feb. 1. The dragon holds a revered status in Eastern culture as one of four sacred spirits. It symbolizes supernatural power capable of warding off malevolent forces while ushering in good fortune, peace, happiness and robust health. It’s a chance for luck and prosperity in the year ahead.
Azerai Ke Ga Bay, located a comfortable 2.5-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City on a new highway, is nestled amongst 4.5 hectares of verdant gardens, framed to the east by Hon Ba Island with its historic lighthouse and to the west by soaring sand dunes. This unique and picturesque location provides a tranquil setting, ideal for relaxation and rejuvenation.
