Croatia Recognized as One of the Best Mediterranean Destinations and Best Cruise Destinations

Award-winning recognition reinforces Croatia’s standing among Europe’s most sought-after travel destinations.

Croatia has been recognized as one of the best destinations in Europe at the 2025 Travvy Awards, earning Bronze for Best Destination in the Mediterranean and Bronze for Best Cruise Destination in Europe. These accolades reaffirm Croatia’s growing stature as a leading European destination for U.S. travelers, celebrated for its stunning coastline, cultural heritage, and exceptional hospitality.

The Travvy Awards, often referred to as the “Academy Awards of the travel industry”, honor the highest standards of excellence in global travel and are determined by votes from travel advisors and industry professionals across North America.

“We are truly honored to see Croatia recognized once again by the Travvy Awards,” said Leila Krešić-Jurić, Director of the Croatian National Tourist Board in North America. “These awards reflect the tireless dedication of our tourism partners and the continued enthusiasm of U.S. travelers discovering the magic of Croatia, from its historic cities and island escapes to its world-class culinary and heritage experiences.”

In addition to these two major awards, Croatia was also nominated as Best Tourism Board from Europe, further underscoring the country’s leadership in promoting authentic, sustainable travel experiences to the U.S. market.

This recognition follows a year of continued tourism growth. During the first ten months, Americans recorded 829,000 arrivals and 2.3 million overnights in Croatia, representing a +10% increase in both arrivals and overnight stays compared to last year. The growing appeal of Croatia in the U.S. market has been further enhanced by new and existing direct flight routes, including United Airlines’ new direct service from New York/Newark to Split, along with existing flights to Dubrovnik and direct Air Transat flights from Toronto to Zagreb.

Croatia was celebrated at the Travvy Awards’ lavish gala, held at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where travel global industry leaders gathered to honor excellence in travel and hospitality.
