Country music and European Christmas traditions will come together aboard a special Scenic river cruise in December 2027.
Canadian country star Terri Clark will join Scenic Luxury Cruises & Tours for an eight-day journey along the Danube, departing Budapest on December 14, 2027. Sailing aboard Scenic Jade, the itinerary will travel through several of Central Europe’s most celebrated holiday destinations before continuing toward Munich.
The voyage marks Clark’s second collaboration with Scenic, following a 2025 European river cruise. This time, the experience will be shaped around Christmas markets, seasonal food and music, with several exclusive events featuring Clark incorporated into the itinerary.
An Intimate Performance at Sea
Unlike a conventional concert cruise with several performers and a packed entertainment schedule, the Terri Clark sailing will place a small number of artist-focused events within Scenic’s existing Danube itinerary.
The voyage will begin with a welcome reception introducing Clark to guests. Later in the cruise, she will perform an intimate onboard concert featuring music from her career.
Passengers will also be invited to attend a live question-and-answer session and a dedicated photo opportunity with the singer.
The smaller scale of a river ship should create a very different atmosphere from one of Clark’s arena or theatre performances. Scenic Jade carries approximately 163 guests, allowing the featured events to feel more personal than a typical concert experience.
Clark previously sailed with Scenic in 2025 and described the experience as one she was eager to repeat—particularly on an itinerary centered around the Christmas season.
A Country Career Spanning Three Decades
Originally from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Clark built her career after moving to Nashville and performing at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge.
Her self-titled debut album arrived in 1995, beginning a run of country hits that included “Better Things to Do,” “Poor Poor Pitiful Me,” “Girls Lie Too” and “You’re Easy on the Eyes.”

Christmas Markets Along the Danube
The Danube becomes particularly atmospheric in December, when cities and smaller towns illuminate their squares, historic buildings and riverfronts for the holiday season.
The cruise begins in Budapest, where Christmas markets traditionally fill central locations such as Vörösmarty Square and the area surrounding St. Stephen’s Basilica. Travelers can expect stalls selling ornaments, handmade gifts, pastries and Hungarian specialties, accompanied by lights and seasonal music.
From Budapest, guests will explore Bratislava on a guided walking tour. The compact Slovak capital lends itself well to a winter visit, with market stalls normally gathered around the squares of its pedestrianized Old Town.
Vienna offers one of the itinerary’s largest collections of Christmas markets. Seasonal markets are held throughout the Austrian capital, ranging from the grand displays outside City Hall and Schönbrunn Palace to smaller arts and food markets in neighborhood squares.
The voyage will also include a visit to Melk Abbey. The Benedictine complex rises above the Danube and is known for its Baroque architecture, elaborate library and commanding views across the Wachau Valley.
Salzburg or Český Krumlov
A full-day excursion will allow guests to choose between Salzburg in Austria and Český Krumlov in the Czech Republic.
Salzburg’s historic center is particularly well suited to the holiday season. Its principal Christmas market occupies the squares around Salzburg Cathedral, while the city’s musical connections and Baroque architecture provide an appropriate backdrop for December concerts.
Český Krumlov offers a smaller and more intimate alternative. The UNESCO-listed town curves around the Vltava River beneath an imposing castle, with narrow streets and colorful buildings leading to its central square.
Both destinations are likely to be cold in December, but the winter conditions are part of their appeal. Warm layers, waterproof footwear and a compact umbrella will make it easier to enjoy outdoor markets and walking tours.
A Private Concert in Vienna
One of the cruise’s signature Scenic Enrich experiences will be a private classical concert at Palais Liechtenstein in Vienna.
The Baroque palace is associated with the Princely Collections of the House of Liechtenstein and contains richly decorated interiors alongside important works of European art.
The evening will be reserved for Scenic guests, offering an opportunity to hear classical music in a setting connected to Vienna’s artistic and aristocratic history.
The event provides a musical counterpoint to Clark’s country performance aboard the ship, giving the journey two very different concert experiences.

Scenic Jade is one of the company’s European Space-Ships, designed to combine the intimate dimensions required for river navigation with the amenities of a small luxury hotel.
The ship carries approximately 163 guests and offers several categories of suites. Butler service is included with every accommodation, while many suites have Scenic Sun Lounges that convert the balcony area into an enclosed seating space when the weather is cold.
Up to five dining options are available, depending on the time of day and itinerary. Meals, premium beverages and the in-suite minibar form part of Scenic’s all-inclusive model.

Preparing for a Christmas Markets Cruise
December cruises on the Danube require a different packing strategy from warm-weather European sailings. Daytime temperatures can remain close to freezing, while evenings at outdoor markets may feel considerably colder.
A warm waterproof coat, gloves, hat and shoes with slip-resistant soles are essential. Packing several thinner layers is often more practical than relying on one heavy garment, particularly when moving between heated interiors and outdoor markets.
Christmas-market vendors increasingly accept cards, but carrying a small amount of local currency can still be useful. Austria and Slovakia use the euro, while Hungary uses the forint and the Czech Republic uses the koruna.
Travelers should also remember that market schedules and individual opening hours can change. The sailing takes place close to Christmas, when some markets may have different operating hours than earlier in December.
