MSC World Asia Sets Sail in December with Exciting New Dining, Entertainment and Family Experiences

MSC Cruises' newest flagship will introduce innovative attractions, luxury accommodations, and a fresh approach to Mediterranean cruising when it welcomes its first guests on December 4, 2026.

The countdown is officially underway for the arrival of MSC World Asia, the highly anticipated new flagship from MSC Cruises. Scheduled to welcome its first guests on December 4, 2026, the ship promises a new generation of cruise experiences, combining innovative design, world-class dining, spectacular entertainment, and exciting attractions for travelers of all ages.

As the latest addition to MSC Cruises’ World Class fleet, MSC World Asia draws inspiration from the cultures, landscapes, and traditions of Asia. Its distinctive design will be reflected across seven onboard districts, each offering different experiences, from lively entertainment and family adventures to sophisticated dining and relaxed oceanfront spaces.

The ship will initially sail seven-night Mediterranean itineraries, visiting some of Europe’s most celebrated destinations before making its way to the Southern Caribbean for the winter 2027/2028 cruise season.

A New Culinary Destination at Sea

Dining will be a major highlight aboard MSC World Asia, with more than 40 restaurants, bars, cafés, and lounges offering an impressive variety of culinary experiences.

Among the most anticipated additions is the largest Venchi chocolate and gelato destination in the MSC Cruises fleet. Covering approximately 3,229 square feet, the venue will combine a chocolate boutique, café, and gelateria.

Guests will be able to choose from 20 gelato flavors, 20 varieties of pralines, and 11 chocolate bars. The selection will also include MSC Cruises’ exclusive Crunchy Waves gelato, inspired by the seaside.

Italian cuisine will take center stage with the European cruise debut of Eataly at sea. Following its introduction aboard MSC World America, the popular Italian dining concept will bring authentic flavors, live cooking demonstrations, a dedicated Chef’s Table, and curated wine experiences to MSC World Asia.

An ocean-view terrace will provide an appealing setting for enjoying Italian cuisine while sailing across the Mediterranean.

For travelers interested in Asian flavors, a new Pan-Asian Street Food venue will feature dishes inspired by more than five culinary destinations, particularly those of Southeast Asia.

The concept will offer three distinct culinary experiences, combining sit-down dining with complimentary grab-and-go options. An open kitchen will allow guests to watch chefs preparing dishes, while signature cocktails will draw inspiration from Asian ingredients and flavors.

New Bars, Lounges and a Brewery at Sea

MSC World Asia will introduce five new bar and lounge concepts, creating spaces for everything from casual afternoon refreshments to elegant evening cocktails.

At the Clubhouse and Soda Bar, families can create their own flavored sodas, while The Terraces Bar & Lounge will provide a sophisticated setting for an Italian aperitivo overlooking the ocean.

The Coral Cove Bar will offer tropical drinks in a relaxed poolside atmosphere.

Another highlight will be the popular Masters of the Sea Pub, which will feature a full-scale onboard microbrewery.

Developed in partnership with Italian craft brewer Baladin, the brewery will produce three signature beers using desalinated seawater: Oceanic Pils, Oceanic India Pale Ale, and Oceanic Asian Blanche.

Thrilling Attractions for Families and Adventure Seekers

MSC World Asia will introduce several attractions designed to make days at sea as memorable as the destinations on its itineraries.

One of the most eye-catching features will be The Spiral @ Tree of Life, which MSC Cruises describes as the longest dry slide at sea.

Stretching 267 feet and spanning 12 decks, the attraction takes inspiration from Singapore’s famous Gardens by the Bay. Combining dramatic architecture with an exhilarating ride, The Spiral will offer a particularly memorable way to travel between the ship’s decks.

Families will also discover a redesigned version of The Harbour, an outdoor adventure district inspired by Asian design.

The area will include an expanded aquapark, a Play Deck, and the two-level Adventure Trail high ropes course.

For travelers seeking an additional adrenaline rush, the new Clipanger attraction will offer an over-water swing suspended approximately 164 feet above the ocean. Billed as Europe’s first over-water swing at sea, it promises an extraordinary perspective on the surrounding seascape.

The Harbour Bar & Bites will provide complimentary grab-and-go snacks for guests taking a break between activities.

Entertainment and Relaxation Inspired by Asia

Entertainment will be another major focus aboard MSC World Asia, with six specially created productions planned for the ship.

The program will include three new theatrical performances in the World Theatre and a new live music spectacular in the Panorama Lounge.

During the day, guests will find several spaces dedicated to swimming, relaxation, and outdoor entertainment.

The Manila Bay Pool will serve as the ship’s main daytime gathering place, combining swimming and relaxation with a lively atmosphere.

For a more sheltered experience, the Coral Cove Pool will feature a retractable roof, allowing guests to enjoy the water regardless of the weather.

The space will also showcase a dramatic water droplet art installation by artist Elisabetta Milan, inspired by the coral reefs of the Philippines.

Elevated Luxury in the MSC Yacht Club

Travelers looking for an exclusive cruise experience will find an expanded range of accommodations within the MSC Yacht Club, MSC Cruises’ premium ship-within-a-ship concept.

MSC World Asia will feature 144 MSC Yacht Club suites across seven categories, representing the widest selection of Yacht Club suite categories offered in the fleet.

Among the new accommodations is the Royal Duplex Suite, designed for families and groups who want additional living space, privacy, and access to the Yacht Club’s exclusive services and amenities.

The expanded selection reflects MSC Cruises’ continued focus on providing different vacation experiences aboard the same ship, accommodating travelers who prefer everything from lively family activities to a more private luxury retreat.

Discover the Mediterranean Aboard MSC World Asia

MSC World Asia will begin its inaugural season with seven-night Mediterranean sailings starting December 4, 2026.

Depending on the itinerary, guests will have opportunities to explore several of the region’s most celebrated ports, including:

  • Barcelona, Spain: Discover architectural landmarks, Mediterranean beaches, and the city’s vibrant food scene.
  • Marseille, France: Explore the historic Old Port and the coastal landscapes of southern France.

Southern Caribbean Cruises Coming in 2027

Following its inaugural winter and summer seasons in the Mediterranean, MSC World Asia will reposition to the Caribbean for the winter 2027/2028 season.

The ship will offer a selection of seven- and 14-night Southern Caribbean itineraries, giving travelers additional opportunities to experience the new flagship in warmer tropical waters.

Further details about specific Caribbean ports and sailing schedules will help travelers plan their vacations as the season approaches.

A New Chapter for MSC Cruises

With its combination of Asian-inspired design, innovative dining venues, spectacular attractions, and expanded luxury accommodations, MSC World Asia represents another significant addition to the cruise line’s growing fleet.

For families, the ship promises an impressive selection of activities and entertainment. Food enthusiasts can look forward to distinctive dining concepts, while couples and luxury travelers will find plenty of opportunities for relaxation and more exclusive experiences.
