Take a bite out of fall with these Massachusetts Inspired Treats!

Home to Salem’s annual Halloween fest, stunning fall foliage, countless apple-picking festivals and more, Massachusetts truly comes alive every fall with festive fun. That’s why it’s no surprise that some of this season’s best comfort food is made here.

So, if you’re looking for something to get you through the colder side of autumn, why not try making one of our favourite New England fall treats!

Apple Cider Donuts

Home to acres of beautiful Orchards, it’s no wonder that Massachusetts is also known to locals as #Applechusetts! Celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Cider Days,an annual community celebration of all things apple in beautiful Franklin County, Massachusetts. From November 1-3, 2019, enjoy tours, cidermaking, tastings, workshops and much more in orchards and venues county-wide from Ashfield, Deerfield, Turners Falls, Shelburne Falls, and Colrain to New Salem and the towns in between. Apple Cider Donuts will be abound at this annual harvest fest. These cinnamon dusted pastries are best served warm for extra comfort.

The Fluffernutter Frappe

To Massachusetts locals, a fluffernutter sandwich (marshmallow fluff & peanut butter) is a childhood staple. In Fact, Fluff is so beloved in this state that there’s an entire festival dedicated to it! Fluff Fest 2019 will take place in late September in Somerville, a city just north of Boston. Restaurants in Massachusetts take this quirky delicacy to the next level with Fluffernutter inspired desserts, cocktails and more. At Wahlbergers across the state, you can even order a ‘Fluffanuttah’ frappe. This adult’s only drink is made with Fluff vodka, creme de banana, vanilla ice cream and peanut butter, perfect for warming with on a crisp fall day.

Boston Cream Pie

Boston Cream Pie, the official state dessert of Massachusetts, is an excellent choice year round but is best enjoyed on October 23, also known as National Boston Cream Pie Day! Order the original recipe at the historic Omni Parker House hotel in Boston where the iconic treat was born. For a fall twist, pair your pie with a Pumpkin Martini at the Omni’s Last Hurrah bar. Or, continue your foodie tour of Boston with a stop at Puritan & Co where award winning baker Brian Mercury has recently taken the helm as Chief Pasty Chef, famous for his Pumpkin Whoopie Piesamong other treats.

Cape Codder Cocktail

Cranberry crops have been flourishing in the Cape Cod region for hundreds of years which explains why this famous drink was invented here. A Cape Codder is essentially a Vodka-Cranberry but the cranberry cocktail recipe possibilities are endless! Take a tour at Cisco Brewers in Nantucket to try Triple 8 Cranberry Vodka, the highest ranked cranberry vodka in the World Spirit Championship, created with organically grown cranberries from Nantucket’s own Windswept Organic Farm, or sip on Nantucket Vineyard’s cranberry infused wine.
