Almost half of all Americans now keener for European travel following fall in price of Euro, shows poll from price comparison website WayAway

The price of a euro recently reaching parity with the dollar – for the first time in almost 20 years – presents an unbelievable opportunity for American travelers to enjoy a cheaper-than-usual trip to Euro currency countries in Europe such as France, Spain, Portugal and Italy.

With this in mind, cheap flights price comparison service WayAway conducted a poll of a statistically relevant sample of 250 American citizens.

The results showed that:

  • Almost half (49%) are now keener to travel to Europe than before as a result of the dollar to euro parity.
  • The area where they felt they are most likely to benefit from this change is in shopping (63%) closely followed by dining out (60%).

“This really is a once-in-20-year gift to American travelers keen to visit Europe and fantastic timing too as from September onwards the price of hotels and flights will fall, as the busy European summer season comes to an end. Historically speaking though this is unlikely to last so do act quickly to benefit, perhaps even considering purchasing your spending money now too.” said a WayAway spokesperson.
