Ananda in the Alps: Yoga, Meditation and Culinary Workshop (September 13th – 17th, 2023)

Nira Alpina, St. Moritz, Switzerland

In September, Nira Alpina and Ananda in the Himalayas present Ananda in the Alps, a transformative program combining ancient Indian wisdom with modern-day living, an integration of traditional yoga, ancient meditation and Ayurvedic culinary science to reveal a path to peace and equanimity. This unique approach offers individuals the opportunity to learn asanas, breathing techniques, and relaxation exercises tailored to their specific needs, fostering physical flexibility, strength, and mental clarity. Sandeep Agarwalla, Head of Yoga at Ananda in the Himalayas, will provide a deep understanding of the philosophy behind yogic teachings and their practical application in modern life, guiding individuals towards personal growth, mindfulness, and overall well-being.

This retreat provides an opportunity to imbibe the principles of Raja yoga and Hatha yoga leading to a meditative state of self-awareness. The tranquil Shanti spa at Nira along with the pristine lakeside Alpine locations are both settings for these sessions of awareness and self-discovery. Maintain harmony in the body through gourmet Ayurvedic meals using organic and local produce curated by Chef Diwaker Balodi, Director Culinary at Ananda in the Himalayas in collaboration with Chef Janko Glotz, Executive Chef at Nira Alpina. These culinary creations will feature balancing foods and incorporate the six fundamental food tastes, focusing on macro and micronutrients, resulting in a delectable explosion of flavors in every dish. Chef Diwaker will conduct cooking demonstrations that teach the principles of the ancient science of Ayurveda based cuisine.
